Bright Coastal Escape. Large Private Deck. Pets Welcome. Walk to Beach & Nature
PRIVACY, LIGHT & RELAXED COASTAL COMFORT Privately tucked away behind three sides of high, dense tea tree hedges, La Sirena is a light, bright and colourful coastal escape where you — and your pets — can truly switch off and relax.
Recently redecorated inside and out, La Sirena blends a fresh aquatic, maritime feel with the relaxed charm of an old-school beach shack. It’s quirky, comfortable and full of character – a place that feels welcoming the moment you arrive.
Set well back from quiet Atherton Drive and facing away from the street, the home offers a rare sense of privacy, tranquillity and an elevated outlook for Venus Bay. Beach 4 is just a 10-minute walk or a 2-minute drive, making beach trips easy at any time of day.
WHY GUESTS LOVE LA SIRENA - Excellent privacy with good separation from neighbours - Light, bright and colourful interiors with a relaxed beach-house feel - Large north-facing deck for outdoor dining and unwinding - Pet-friendly, with space for kids and dogs to play - 10-minute walk to Beach 4 (or 2-minute drive) - Easy access to coastal walks and surrounding nature - Outdoor hot & cold shower/bath (in addition to shower in main bathroom) — perfect after the beach - Comfortable year-round, with a wood heater for winter and air-conditioning for summer
WHAT “LA SIRENA” MEANS La Sirena means “The Mermaid” in Italian — a nod to the home’s coastal setting and fresh, aquatic feel. Like Venus Bay itself, it’s a place that draws people back to the sea, slower days and a more relaxed rhythm.
THE HOME La Sirena is spacious and well set up for families, couples, friends and pets.
BEDROOMS (SLEEPS UP TO 8) - Bedroom 1: King bed (sleeps 2) - Bedroom 2: Queen bed (sleeps 2) - Bedroom 3: Bunk bed plus double bed (sleeps 4)
BATHROOMS & LAUNDRY - Main bathroom with shower, toilet and basin - Second separate toilet - Outdoor shower/bath with hot and cold water – perfect after the beach - Separate laundry with washing machine and dryer
LIVING & OUTDOOR SPACES The heart of the home is a generous open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area that flows seamlessly onto a large, north-facing timber deck. It’s ideal for morning coffee, long lunches or relaxed evenings, with outdoor seating for up to six plus a dining table and chairs.
Large windows throughout fill the home with natural light. In cooler months, the wood heater creates a cosy and inviting atmosphere, while a newly installed split-system heating and cooling unit keeps the house comfortable year-round, making it an easy place to settle in, whether it’s a sunny summer afternoon or a cosy winter evening by the fire.
Please note: our driveway is unsealed and on an incline, with trees on one side and the house on the other. It adds to the privacy of the property, but parking can be tight for larger 4WDs and it isn’t suitable for boats. There is, however, ample street parking available on Atherton Road.
OUTDOORS - Undercover table tennis table - Rear yard ideal for kids and pets - Lovely native garden setting
EXTRAS - Fully equipped kitchen with electric oven, cooktop, fridge/freezer and microwave - PS4 and TV in the second bedroom - Free Wi-Fi - Pet-friendly
Venus Bay is just as special outside peak summer, with quieter beaches, scenic coastal walks and a slower pace that suits couples and repeat visitors looking to unwind.

Host was clear about the place, all full ammenities in good condition and working, very clean, bright happy and a relaxing place. Good vibes throughout our stay. Spacious enough, the location was more than perfect, close to beach, small shops/food strip - couldn’t fault it!

We had a great stay at Marks place. Great location for walking to both beaches 4 and 5 for beach walks and sunsets. House had everything we needed (including aircon on the 40 degree day). Thanks for a great stay Mark!

Thanks for the review, Rebecca and glad you enjoyed your stay!
Comfortable, quirky fun interior, great appliances, clean and had everything we needed. Clear instructions for setup and leaving. Only negative was the driveway as it has bushes both sides and hard to get in and out ofA bigger car.
The house was exactly what we needed for 5 adults and 3 small kids plus doggo. Clear instructions were left with info on house things. Loads of couch space, table etc for everyone to relax. Beds were fine. The only suggestion we have for the owner is perhaps a safety rail on the top bunk bed, but thats it. We absolutely loved it and if the oppertunity arises, will definitly stay again.
Great house, quirky and welcoming. The house has everything you need! Our two dogs loved it, great area to walk as limited traffic. We would stay again for sure
Within walking range of beaches, bright and vibrant interior, maintained facilities and overall roomy. Each room is well lit by windows that allow generous amounts of sunlight and provides warmth during the day in winter. Good place to stay all year round with something to offer for every season.
Host provided very good instructions for everything, living space was great for 8 people and large deck. Just few small things that could be good a couple of extra chairs (sleeps 8 so 8 seats at dining table would be good) There was a lot of stuff on tables and side boards etc so we had to move things around to have places for groceries etc. The driveway could use a big cut back to fit larger cars / boats (Everest and 5mt alum for ref)

Thanks for the feedback, Rob and you raise a couple of good points, sincerely appreciated. We will get 2 extra chairs for the dining table as well as pointing out to future guests that the driveway is tight for anyone bringing 4WD and/or boats.
We had a lovely getaway and the house is very comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. It’s also got a great feel and decor. King bed very comfortable. Easy access and garden for dogs. And good air conditioning in the living area. Thanks for helping with keys!
The house was open and airy,, everything was clean and tidy. The mermaid theme in the house was very cute and there was a bit of a retro vibe. Loved the wood heater, perfect for a winter stay. We really couldnt fault La Sirena it had everything we needed and we had a very relaxing, enjoyable stay. Thank you!

Thank you for the kind review, we are very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay.
The house is beautifully decorated with mermaid theme. It looks like the pictures advertised. It is well equipped with cooking utensils and beautiful crockery. It is clean and comfortable. We felt homely. It is just a few minutes drive to the beach. The host is very friendly and very responsive.
Great family residence, only advice to others is if you have a large vehicle youll need to reverse up the tricky driveway as the trees eitherside are overgrown and its difficult to turn the car around at the rear of the propety due overgrown shrubs as well.
We had a great stay at La Sirena. Good location for a loop walk between beaches 4&5, to little nature reserve for wombat spotting, or to playground/boat ramp. Very comfortable house for our family 2 adults/3 kids. Great kitchen/dinining/living area and perfect back deck for afternoon snoozing in the sun and loved the outdoor shower/bath and also fireplace. Well stocked kitchen, just missed some storage space for our food and draws on wardrobes for our clothes. Would def repeat book.
We had a great stay, fantastic location and a very comfortable home. The one point would be the driveway is overgrown and we had to park on the street so we would scatch our car. I was aware of this issue as it was mentioned in other reviews. That being said we would happily stay agianiissue
We stayed 3 nights towards the end of Winter and enjoyed mostly fine, sunny weather on the north-facing deck. The chill of the evenings was warmed using the woodfire heater which heated the whole home. We cooked every meal in, and used the well stocked kitchen. Hot water was instant and plentiful. The ocean beach was only a relatively short stroll away. We had a very relaxing long weekend and enjoyed every minute spent at La Sirena, an immensly charming beach abode.

Disappointing Stay
The property is well located but the cleanliness was very disappointing. Examples include:
- Most of the kitchen implements needed cleaning before use,
- The griller was left with burnt food and had to be scrubbed to use,
- The floors need vacuuming (the Dyson was full after we vacuumed when we arrived)
- Some of the bedding was well by its "use by" date
The overall impression, rightly or wrongly, was that the property is rarely inspected by the owners.

Hi Peter, I am sorry to read about your experience at our property and sincerely thank you for bringing it to our attention. For complete transparency, we had been using a temporary cleaner for a few weeks as our usual cleaner, who does a wonderful job, was away on a well deserved holiday. Please rest assured we take great pride in cleanliness, presentation, and clean fresh linen, and we recognise the importance of this to ensure an enjoyable stay for our guests. I hope this experience did not detract too much from your enjoyment of our stay, and rest assured we will make sure this does not happen again.
