We have called our house 'Bombora'- a nod to its 1960's origins. ( Bombora is an indigenous word for a surf break located some distance from the shoreline- it is also the name of a song by the group 'The Atlantics' released in 1963)
We have painstakingly refurbished this gorgeous mid century home to be true to its era, a true walk back in time. We hope you enjoy the clean modern lines of the house along with the large floor to ceiling windows that allow natural light to flood the home. Our home is filled with vintage finds that compliment the house's era and make for a fun and casual feel throughout. The dog friendly backyard and spacious undercover patio area make our house welcoming to all. We are central to fabulous beaches, golf clubs, hot springs, wineries and more.
Property details: On entering our house you will walk into the open plan kitchen, living and dining area. The home is filled with new and vintage finds that suit the mid-century holiday home era.
Lounge/ dining: Relax in this space and be warmed by the gas log fire in winter. In summer a split system air conditioning unit will keep you cool. Our dining table and chairs are an original Grant Featherstone set, bought by the family from Myers in 1965. We can remember eating many special dinners around this table and hope that our guests make similar family memories.
Kitchen: This room contains an original layout and cupboards, albeit with a bright painted update. We hope you enjoy using the new retro styled 900mm cooker with gas cook top and fan forced electric oven. There is also a new retro styled fridge freezer. Other notes: Please note this is our family beach house and not a hotel, we have filled our home with personal items we adore. Please treat our beach shack with respect as you would your own home, if you are after modern bling this may not be for you however if you want an authentic vintage experience we think you will love Bombora'. While we love our furry friends they must be kept outside in the fully fenced backyard. Any damage or extra cleaning will result in costs incurred.

Our family stayed the weekend for a wedding we were attending and the place was fantastic for the 6 of us. The hosts were very accommodating and allowed full use of the house which we appreciated. The house itself is furnished beautifully and we all fell in love with it.
House was spotless and very well equipped. The hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming. Really loved the 60’s decor, the backyard and outdoor seating area. Lots of character with modern conveniences and great proximity to beautiful beach. Thank you for accommodating pets!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a quick trip for us, and to have a warm, comfortable place that was very easy to settle into was fab. We felt very welcomed

Everything we needed was there and everything worked perfectly. We would definitely stay there again.
Thank you for a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the Autumn sun on the deck and the company of our two dogs. Bed was very comfy. We enjoyed stepping back in time without the pressure of perfection. Instead finding the joy of reflection. Hope to come again.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Mid Century 60s Beach House. The house was chocked full of character and has been lovingly designed and maintained to show off all of its 60s features. High quality linen provided and really spacious rooms for everyone to be comfortable. Sue was an excellent host - communications were a breeze along with some lovely personal touches we were greeted with on arrival. The neighbourhood is quiet and the house is in an excellent location to all that you would need. We would definitely come stay again when in the area.
Upon entry we were sent back in time memories of our childhood flooding back with the well presented 60s style home. The energy was of comfort and relaxation. All the amenities readily available and very clean.most accomidating host. Thank you.
Loved everything about this home. Staying here was brilliant, it’s filled with character and retro vibes and was super comfy. Super clean home. Amazing decor, great bedding, really comfy and warm bedding (we stayed in winter), ample heating, great hot water, amazing retro original kitchen perfectly appointed with modern appliances and everything you’d need. Tv, phone chargers, sun filled home, great outdoor area that is fed by tonnes of sunshine and close to beach and shops but in a quiet area. It’s everything you need if you love mid century and a brilliant time away in a down to earth home. Thank you to Sue and Harry. We will be back.
