The Old Post Office (W), Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk
Tucked away in a quiet side street of the picturesque coastal town of Wells-next-the -Sea, The Old Post Office is a mere few minutes walk away from the heart of this lively seaside town and thriving quay. Originally two cottages, this hideaway has been completely refurbished to create one truly fabulous house. This beautiful, luxurious property showcases exceptional attention to detail, eye catching interior decoration, and seriously on-trend sophisticated styling.
The Old Post Office, a period property dating from the 18th Century, combines character with cool contemporary, spacious living in sumptuously appointed rooms set over three floors. You will find a rich colour scheme that flows from room to room, beautiful furniture, stunning light fittings and Danish wood burning stoves. An extremely well-equipped 'Naked Kitchen' has Neff appliances, large bathrooms have stunning Italian terrazzo flooring, and seriously comfortable beds are dressed with high thread count Egyptian linen. In keeping with the property's age, the stairs remain steep and one twists, there are steps between rooms and one doorway is rather low in height and narrow in width.
The ground floor living areas are set around an enclosed courtyard garden, and have warm-with-every-step underfloor heating. There is a choice of two sitting rooms with 50" LG Smart televisions, both with wood burning stoves, a modern streamlined kitchen with full-length sliding doors to the walled garden, and an adjoining dining space. A very handy utility room and luxuriously appointed full bathroom completes the downstairs. Upstairs there are four bedrooms spread over two floors (three king-size and one twin) and three further beautifully fitted bathrooms, one of which is en-suite. All three floors have a fibre-to-the-premises ultrafast Internet service with an advertised WiFi download speed of 300mbps.
The Old Post Office is a superb Norfolk hideaway, perfectly suited to couples, friends and families who are looking for somewhere rather special to stay. Wells-next-the-Sea is a very popular, year round holiday destination, appealing to all ages. The town has a variety of independent shops, galleries, restaurants and cafes to browse and enjoy. The Quay is a great spot for a morning coffee to watch the world go by, and see the tide and boats come and go. The Maltings - a fabulous arts and information centre with museum, pop-up gallery and theatre/film venue is a perfect option on a rainy day. Wells beach is renowned for its colourful beach huts, pinewood walks and golden sands that stretch for miles and miles.

Great house, plenty of space, all mod cons, comfy beds, good showers and everything we needed (and more!) in the kitchen. Loads of space for a family of five and absolutely brilliant location - very central but still quiet. Parking was a short walk away - easy to find and big enough for our SUV. Thank you!

lovely place to stay
Everyone (middle-aged parents, young adult "children") loved the Old Post Office, with its private walled garden for breakfast, lunch and dinner al fresco, spacious living rooms, multiple hotel quality bathrooms and super comfortable beds. Perfect location in the quiet High Street so you can walk everywhere, convenient parking space for one car - perhaps we were just lucky but had no problem parking second car on Buttlands. Initially we were a little terrified by the sparkling white marble surfaces and German coffee machine (just couldn't make that one work) but found kitchen very well-equipped - we played hunt-the-freezer for a couple days but there is one in the utility room next to the sink. High quality fixtures and fittings, dishwasher/washer/dryer, everything you could need. The Co-op opposite the church means you don't even really need to make trip to Morrisons in Fakenham. Actually Frary's stall five minutes' stroll away on the quay means you don't even really need to make the trip to the Co-op, just live off lobster and French's chips for the week. We'd go back in a heartbeat - lovely place to stay.
