It was a beautiful property with wonderful views from the terrace! Paola checked us in, showed us around the apartment, and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations It was super convenient to the Duomo, and we loved having an elevator after so much walking around the city! Would definitely come back, thank you!
We loved the location, large size and beauty of the apartment. It had everything we needed for a fabulous stay in Florence !Helpful hosts !Great choice !
Our stay at Capponi Terrace was wonderful. From the moment I booked the apartment, communication with Matias was excellent. Apartment was exactly as described and in a perfect location… quiet, yet close to everything. After long days exploring Florence, we enjoyed coming back and sitting on the terrace. The washing machine in the apartment was not something we were looking for in our stay but, was an added bonus.
Beautiful terrace patio to see the northern side of the city (no view of main Duomo, but beautiful view nonetheless of the mountains and other cityscape). 10 minute walk to main Duomo square, bit further to the river and south from there. Listing said it was a double bed, but definitely a queen which was great! Note, only one air conditioner was shown to us in an isolated living room (quite a ways from the bedroom). If you’re visiting during the hottest months, this may be a consideration. No issues with mosquitos in early May. Apartment certainly met our needs!
We spent 7 weeks at Capponi this summer. It was close to everything yet slightly away from the most touristy sections and on a very quiet street. Situated on the top floor with tons of natural light, it's one section of a formerly larger apartment, with the other section being a separate rental that shares a common entry and outer front door to the stairwell. Both units have their own locking interior front door and separate living space, although they share the terrace (with a light divider for some privacy). Our biggest critique is that because the windows are positioned higher on the walls than usual, you can’t sit and see out the window in any of the rooms. But that’s minor, and affected us more only because we were here for so long. The terrace is delightful and offers gorgeous views. We were there for the San Giovanni holiday on June 24 - and we could see the fireworks from the terrace! If you are visiting Florence in summer, keep in mind that it is very hot and humid, and this unit gets the full brunt of sun all day. We made sure the shutters were closed when the sun was on that side of the place, which helped a lot during the day, and the AC and a fan helped to keep us cool at night. Having an elevator was also a significant plus.Matias was so easy to work with the entire time, always very responsive. He came to our rescue with a portable router when the internet was down and also provided a new fan when the old one wasn't working.
The apartment was great and 100% consistent with the photos in the listing. Everything worked and the apartment was clean and well equipped.
The apartment is on the 5th floor and while I used the stairs to work off pasta and gelato, there's an elevator if you're not so inclined. The apartment is quiet at night and I found the bed pretty comfortable. There's A/C and heating, but I never had to use either as the temperature was near perfect when I was there. WiFi is reliable and fast. There were the typical mosquitos you find in Florence, but plug-in repellant devices are provided and were effective in keeping the pests away while I slept.
The apartment is located in a great area with a lot of locals, as well as students from a nearby university. Heading towards the Duomo on Via dei Servi, there's a lot of great restaurants and shops, including a market. The Duomo is only a five or so minute walk and in the piazza SS. Anunziata, there's a taxi stand which was really convenient on my departure. Just a few doors down from the apartment is a small caffe with great cappucino and a friendly owner that speaks a little english.
The terrace is amazing - great for soaking up the incredible view and sounds of the neighborhood.
HouseFlo was great and very responsive before and during my stay. When I return to Florence, this will be my first choice.
