Lovely, small cottage. Very convenient to Main Street shops. A great coffee shop just across the street! The outside garden area is particularly charming for relaxing and reading. Host was friendly and readily available.
Our family of three enjoyed a short but great stay in Lissette’s lovely apartment to celebrate a college graduation and a birthday. It was the perfect location—close to a number of wonderful local shops and restaurants, as well as beautiful Pemaquid Beach and the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden. A quiet and peaceful oasis in the middle of Damariscotta—we especially loved the lush garden!
This apartment is exactly as Lisette described in the listing with a very comfortable space and beautifully decorated rooms. I will definitely be recommending this listing to friends and family .
All in all a pleasant place to stay; a bit noisy at night from the bands at the wharf and from early am truck traffic but private and close to shops & restaurants. The "easy chairs" are not so easy to get out of and too soft for back support for people who read a lot of books, but that's a minor quibble. We'd happily stay there next September if we can.
Located right downtown close to pusb, shops and river fun, it was just right for our first stop on a girl's trip to hike Acadia and the Cabot trail. The TThe decor
Lisette was a wonderful hostess and the apartment is spacious, full of wonderful local art, and in a perfect location next to the bridge connecting the twin villages of Damariscotta and Newcastle. Walking distance to several coffee shops, restaurants, and gift shops and galleries, and a movie theater. Also kayak rental place and river tours. A gem!

Katja and her kids were fantastic guests! Communication was smooth. They were very respectful and mindful of the property. The apartment was left spotless! I highly recommend Katja and her kids to the VRBO community.
We stayed at this lovely apartment for pumpkinfest, and had a great time! It somehow managed to be a private peaceful sanctuary while located only steps from all the fun! It was the perfect size for my family with two small kids, and the designated parking space was greatly appreciated on a very busy weekend. Comfy, cozy beds and linens made it a nice place to rest our heads at the end of each busy day. My kids are already begging to come back next fall!
Mainly, it was excellent -very clean, bed comfortable, quiet. Approach to apartment was a little off-putting - piles of garden equipment, wheelbarrow, etc . Bathroom sink so tiny. Great situation.
Our second year here and we enjoyed our stay at the Cottrell House apartment. One concern I had was the large mirror across from the kitchen which was leaning against the wall and not attached. Thinking it might accidentally tip over. Will definitely stay again next year. Lived in Damariscotta for 30 years. Love it here! Thank you Lisette.
Within 15 mins of texting Lisette, that I would like a screen for the kitchen window - she appeared putting it in! We have rented from vrbo previously. Never have we had a more helpful host. The property itself is amazing. I LOVED stepping outside the door each morning and into her garden. The apt is cozy, well decorated, beds v comfortable, kitchen well stocked & what it lacks Lisette will deliver to you. Being in downtown Damariscotta was perfect for my spouse. The apt is very quiet. Wifi is strong for working or online classes I took while there. TV could be cranky but Lisette always showed up to rectify. Right away! Highly recommend Lisette & her properties.
Enjoyed the apartment which is in downtown Damariscotta across the street from the harbor. The apartment was very clean and well furnished with many homey touches. Sheets, pillows, blankets and towels were in excellent condition. I’d rent this apartment again.
We arrived to find glorious gardens along the entranceway and bouquets of the same flowers inside. The unit maintained a delightfully cool and consistent temperature, perfect after a day of sun & wind. Easy walk to shops and restaurants. Great home base location for exploring the Mid-Coast peninsulas. Really appreciated all the local reference materials that were in the unit - these helped us refine our explorations.
Best location to take in Damariscotta and all it offers. In town location, but quiet and with total privacy. The garden was enjoyed by all. Great hosts and furnished tastefully, comfortably with a colorful slightly funky and eclectic feel. Will be back and refer others.
We highly recommend this location. Wonderful location. Clean, well kept unit and property. Lissette is an excellent property manager. This is our second stay and we will definitely be back.
Our first VRBO experience & it was great from start to finish. Fresh flowers in vases & Lissette’s smile greeted us immediately. Everything was exactly as the pics and descriptions showed. We enjoyed walking to excellent restaurants & shops. Lisette was a delightful host, ready to help, but giving us lots of ‘space’. Hope to come back some day!
The property was exactly as described and in a perfect location to walk to coffee shops and local stores. There were plenty of day trip options from this location or just to enjoy a relaxing day with the use of patio, lake front dock and fire pit. I would definitely go back! Thanks Lisette for your hospitality!
We loved our stay in Damariscotta. The apartment was very comfortable and spotless. Air conditioning in Maine is not the norm, and we welcomed that extra comfort. Lissette was a gracious and accommodating host. The listing photos were accurate! I loved the pretty walkway and the privacy, despite the location in the middle of Damariscotta. We would absolutely return!
Very centrally located near shops, restaurants, and the river with its activities, this place also has a big yard and outdoor seating. We didn’t walk to the end of the yard to see the dock on the river, though, or sit in the outdoor chairs—we should have! The picture of the walk does not give an adequate idea of this quirky apartment at the back of an old house that faces the main street, but it served our needs well. Lissette was very responsive to our questions, but she couldn’t solve the TV problem either—the signal cutting out several times an evening required equipment replacement, which happened after we left. We worried that the walkway would be a tripping hazard for us in our 70s, but we didn’t trip. And I wished for bigger windows and more light, but the interior lights were good and bright, so we used them. The kitchen worked well and was well supplied, and the beds were very comfortable. It was a good place to stay.
