This 19th-century cottage oozes character and charm within the pretty little village of Borgue near Kirkcudbright.. Ground Floor:

Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds. Electric storage heaters, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot.. Garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Bike/equipment store. Parking for 2 cars in shared parking area. No smoking.. Rowan Cottage was built in 1843 as a ’wee free’ church, a branch of the Church of Scotland famously strict in its religious practices. The beautiful, old beams throughout the property are testament to its history and a delightful character feature. This is a comfortably furnished house is festively decorated at Christmas. A handy booster seat which can be attached to the dining chairs is provided for your little ones. Rowan Cottage adjoins another holiday property and offers a shared parking area with two allocated parking spaces. "Out of the world and into Borgue" is a local saying aptly describing this pretty little village, which is surrounded by beautiful beaches, green and pastoral landscape and amazing little towns each with their own fascinating history. The name Borgue is derived from the Gaelic word ’Burg’ meaning ’little hill’. The village itself is set amidst the rolling hills of Galloway, a delightful and challenging landscape for all those who enjoy a good walk! There is even a local food serving pub just 100 yards away.
