The town centre is just over a mile away and the location is perfect for exploring North Devon and all its attractions such as Exmoor National Park with its magical night skies in Europe’s first ’Dark Sky Reserve’, the many rugged coastal towns and quaint villages such as Lynton & Lynmouth, Ilfracombe and the world-famous Clovelly Village with their awe-inspiring scenery.
If stunning beaches are your thing, then North Devon will leave you spoilt for choice with Saunton, Woolacombe, Croyde and Westward Ho! Beaches - all within easy reach by car. The fantastic Southwest Coastal Path runs through the region’s rugged coastline and is perfect for walkers and view seekers offering 90 miles of stunning walks. The popular Tarka Trail can be accessed from the town centre, providing the unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line on foot or by bicycle allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and river scenery which will take you through Fremington Quay with its excellent café, Instow with its estuary beach and view towards the lovely fishing village of Appledore through to Bideford and beyond.
For a day with a difference why not take a trip across to Lundy Island, home to England’s first statutory Marine Nature Reserve due to its unique flora and fauna? Measuring just 3 miles by ¾ mile, this entire island has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

This is a great little apartment.
This is a great little apartment. It is well kitted out. Good shower, large comfy bed, and WiFi works well. The big tv was also appreciated for watching The Euros and T20 World Cup.It is ideally placed to explore cliffs, beaches and coastal towns. Places you may wish to visit are all within a 40min drive…and I went to many of them!Easy parking was also a good thing.Definitely recommend.

My wife and I (and our dog) have just spent a week staying at Kingsley Lodge in Barnstaple.
My wife and I (and our dog) have just spent a week staying at Kingsley Lodge in Barnstaple. What a find! This one bedroom apartment is the perfect accommodation for a couple with or without a dog.A lovely lounge area with small kitchen and a table and 2 chairs, then a good size bedroom with modern en suite.Everything you need. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We were very impressed and located right by footpaths to the town centre and the Tarka trail so you can walk further if you wish.We walked to the wonderful cafe at Fremington Quay where the cakes are yummy. Also a bit further and there is another one called the Sandbanks cafe. Yummy cakes here too and a fabulous cooked breakfast. We’ll definitely be back for the wonderful accommodation, fab walks and yummy cakes.
