About the host
Hosted by Glenda Kinsey
Hello and welcome to our cottage. Thank you for looking and we really hope you book to stay with us! As you will see, the cottage is newly-renovated. Porthmadog is my (Glenda) home town, therefore I know the area well! Don’t hesitate to contact me to ask about the local area and amenities. I’d be happy to help.
The cottage belonged to our dear aunt who is no longer with us, and since we bought it from the family in 2021, we have spent a year totally renovating it. A lot of work went into hopefully making it a lovely, comfortable retreat for our guests to enjoy whilst exploring the area.
We both love cooking, therefore we believe we've stocked the kitchen well with all the utensils, crockery and pans you'll need to dine in. There's plenty of places around Porthmadog too for great meals out with family and friends.
We will be available to contact by phone/text/Whatsapp throughout your stay and will communicate all the information you need to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. We want to make sure our guests are happy! Our housekeeper lives across the road should you have any immediate issues.
Access to the cottage is via a key lock box and the code to access it will be shared prior to your arrival.
Any questions, just ask, we'd be delighted to answer them!
Kind regards
Steve & Glenda

Why they chose this property
The location
The house in the heart of Porthmadog, a harbour town with a host of craft shops, restaurants, cafes and local amenities. You’re within walking distance of the shops so there’s no need to keep jumping in the car.
Nearby, you’ll find Portmeirion (1 mile away), Ffestiniog Railway (1 mile), Llanberis (the foot of Snowdon) and beautiful beaches (Black Rock Sands, Criccieth, Harlech). It’s the perfect base for all your outdoor activities. Take a day hiking in Snowdon, or courageous explorers can check out the zip wire through the slate mines.
For those less inclined to high energy activities, the railway is a beautiful and historic attraction, and the towns are beautiful areas to potter around and enjoy local crafts.
The town centre is a 2-minute walk with a high street full of shops, cafes and takeaways. You have a Tesco store a 5-min walk from the property and an Aldi and Lidl within a 2-min drive. The train station is a 5-min walk and there is a regular bus service in the town going to all surrounding areas.
