About this property
Sleep 6, 3 bedroom Lake District Cottage, close to village, lake and beautiful walks
On the outskirts of Coniston there is a small stone bridge over Yewdale Beck. And just over that bridge proudly sits Melbourne House.
Perfectly positioned, Melbourne House really does enjoy the best of both worlds; Coniston village and its amenities are just minutes away whilst the lake, footpaths to Coniston Water and the surrounding Coniston fells & forests can be accessed from the front door.
Offering 3 bedrooms, plus a pretty garden with lovely views, the cottage is perfect for families or friends looking for a rural cottage but with amenities close by. What's more Melbourne House, is situated right next door to Smithy Cottage, making the 2 cottages together perfect for families looking to holiday close by yet still retaining their own space.
Ground Floor
Heading through the main entrance of Melbourne House leads you into the kitchen/breakfast room. Fitted out with retro-style metal units made from recycled spitfires and with vibrant red worktops and painted beams this characterful and utterly unique kitchen is a real talking point! The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine.
The kitchen leads to a useful boot room, great for bags, coats and outdoor gear and beyond to
the sitting/dining room.

Comfortable seating for 6 is arranged around the large log-burning stove, guaranteed to warm even the coldest of toes on a brisk Lake District evening. Here you’ll find everything you need for cosy nights in including a Smart TV, DVD player, WiFi a selection of books and DVDs.
