The accommodation is on two levels and comprises two bedrooms, a double and a twin with a shower room on the first floor and on the ground floor a comfortable and cosy living room with a Smart TV, Bluetooth soundbar and gas coal-effect fire. The kitchen/dining area is adjacent to the living room and provides everything you need including a Bluetooth radio, coffee machine and a lovely looking gas coal effect burner. Access to upstairs is via a barn-style door in the kitchen and there is also a door leading out onto the small and very private courtyard garden at the back of the house where you can enjoy an al-fresco meal or peaceful drink. In the courtyard you will also find access to the handy outdoor toilet.

Much of Appledore is a conservation area and there are plenty of quaint village streets which host a wide range of cafés, public houses, and boutique shops - the perfect place to simply wander and take in the surroundings. The historic port town of Bideford is just two miles away and offers a taste of traditional North Devon life with its weekly pannier market and of course has all the usual town facilities such as a large supermarket and high street.

The sandy beach of Westward Ho! with its great views out towards Lundy Island which can be visited on a day trip is popular with surfers, windsurfers, and beach lovers alike and is just over two miles away. The beautiful, child friendly, sandy beach at Instow is on the other side of the estuary and accesible by ferry or road. There are plenty of local attractions and amenities nearby including Royal North Devon Golf Course, horse riding stables, an indoor swimming pool, fishing, sailing and water-skiing facilities. Family attractions include the Big Sheep and Milky Way theme parks, Dartington Crystal Factory, Tapeley Park, and the Tarka Trail, which is popular with walkers, runners, cyclists and follows a disused railway line all the way to Barnstaple and Torrington in the opposite direction.

And then there is the Southwest Coast Path which offers in North Devon alone, 90 miles of walks with amazing and dramatic coastal views. Whether you are seeking the perfect base to explore all that North Devon has to offer, or the perfect getaway location to relax and unwind in comfort with a touch of traditional simplicity, this property is the perfect choice for you. Beach 3 miles.

An excellent cottage in a lovely location.

An excellent cottage in a lovely location. warm, comfortable and quiet. We had a really nice break and explored Appledore and the local area. Perfect for us as a mature couple. The owner sent us a detailed guide to the cottage and area, prior to our visit, which was extremely useful.

The cottage is cosy and well equipped. Everything was very clean and in full working order and it is in a terrific location. The owner was very attentive and helpful with information about what to see and do in the local area, including information specific to our own preferences and responded quickly and helpfully on the occasion when we needed him.I can't recommend this cottage enough if you want a comfortable stay on a great, friendly town with lots to see and do nearby.
