New Addition 2015 - St Marys Cottages No1 is an excellent end of terrace house situated in the delightful village of Low Newton just a few yards away but overlooking the beautiful beach and natural harbour of St Mary's Haven.

Amenities: Oil central heating with woodburning stove. Electric oven and grill, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine. TV/DVD player, CD player. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Highchair available. Off-road parking for 2 cars. Enclosed gardens, patio area, patio furniture. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 2.6 miles, pub 0.1 miles, beach 0.1 miles. Note: No fuel provided for woodburning stove

Town: The small coastal village of Low Newton-by-the-Sea is situated on Northumberland's Heritage Coastline between the popular fishing villages of Craster, famous for its kippers, and Beadnell. Beadnell Bay offers excellent sandy beaches and there are spectacular coastal paths with wonderful scenery. The village has a pub which serves food and the historic town of Alnwick is only a short drive away.

Great location. Lacking comfort and TLC

The location of the property was amazing, could not fault that at all. The property needs a little TLC. There was damp and paint falling off the walls in one of the bedrooms. The living area wasn't very cozy or comfortable. A couple of new sofas is all that's required to make it 100% more comfortable. One of the sofas was falling to bits, the other was a cheap office sofa bed with no arms. We were only there for 3 nights, so we could put up with the lack of comfort. For the price I might expect a little more to be a repeat customer.

In need of a revamp

The property is very outdated, and in need of a total overhaul. Who has ever heard of heating or hot water but not both at the same time! Everything feels like it is done on the cheap and maximised for profit without any investment. The only property I have ever stayed in (and that includes the continent) that has no internet or wifi. This isn't because there is no reception at the property but more that the owners feel its an unnecessary expense, The redeeming factor is the property location. Five star for that but only 1 star for facilities and property standard. What a failed opportunity this property is.
