The Space:

Crab Cottage is a beautiful semi-detached property packed with plenty of perks. Inside you’ll find a homely living room, two large bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and off-street parking, along with a spacious garden.



With beautiful interiors and a neutral colour palette, the living room is welcoming and snug. Relax on one of the two sofas with a good book or play games with your loved ones. Modern in style, the space also includes a large coffee table, 55 inch flat screen Smart TV and delightful ornaments.



Head next door and you’ll find the dining room. With a rectangular wooden table and seating for all guests, there is ample space for your party to enjoy meals together.



With light coloured walls and sky-blue tiles, the kitchen has a bright and airy feel. Grey wooden cabinets and modern fittings fit perfectly with the nature of the property. Fully equipped for all self-catering staycations, you’ll have access to an oven, hob, toaster, kettle, fridge freezer and dishwasher during your stay.



Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find two bedrooms. Bold in colour, both bedrooms have spruce blue walls to create cosy and stylish spaces. You’ll enjoy your sleep at Crab Cottage as both the king size bed in the first bedroom and twin single beds in the second bedroom feature crisp white linens and plush bedding. Please note that both bedrooms can either be made up as kings or twins so please contact us before your stay to let us know which layout is best suited for your group.



The bathroom at Crab Cottage comes in the form of a clean and modern suite with a walk-in shower, WC and basin.



Also located next to the bathroom is an additional WC.



Outside you’ll find a large garden with outdoor furniture on a patio area and artificial grass with a football goal. A real treat, this outside space is an added luxury. You can enjoy al fresco dining with your party and drinks outside as the evening draws near.



Guest Access:

Guests have access to the full property. The keys to Crab Cottage are accessed via a key safe box and full details will be provided prior to check in.



Private on-site parking is available for up to two vehicles.



A maximum of two well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Crab Cottage per reservation.



The Neighborhood:

Crab Cottage is located in the small village of Longhoughton, just a short drive away from Alnwick. Surrounded by stunning scenery and beautiful beaches, it's the perfect location to travel from and explore the beauty of Northumberland.



With cobbled streets lined with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, the market town of Alnwick has charisma and personality in abundance. If you’re a keen reader, head to the old railway station and you’ll find one of the UK’s largest second-hand bookshops. As night falls, venture to one of the lively inns to enjoy live music.



Alnwick also has some of the country’s top attractions including Alnwick Castle, which was the location for the famous Harry Potter film franchise. Discover a realm of adventure by taking on the Dragon Quest or complete broomstick training in the very spot where Harry Potter had his first flying lesson. Head to the Artisan Courtyard to have fun dressing up in medieval costumes and get a feel for 14th century life. You can also explore The Alnwick Garden where you’ll find 12 acres of magnificent gardens.



When staying at Crab Cottage, you can seize the day at award-winning Bamburgh Castle, the real Last Kingdom of Bebbanburg. Discover over 3000 years of incredible history, high adventure, exhilarating views and sea air.



The nearby pint-sized Holy Islands holds pubs and cafés a-plenty, coastal Lindisfarne Castle and the ancient Lindisfarne Priory.



The coastal village of Craster is also another popular local spot. Follow your nose to L. Robson & Sons kipper smokehouse and embark on a delicious visit to the Northumberland coast. The kippers here are a delicacy which is exported to food lovers across the country, and it is reputedly popular with the British Royal Family.



Getting Around:

Crab Cottage is a short drive from the centre of Alnwick.



The closest train station is Alnmouth, which is also a short drive from Crab Cottage so local towns in Northumberland can easily be reached via rail. Routes can also be found running further afield to locations including Edinburgh, Newcastle and London.



One bus route can be found running through Longhoughton. Hop on the X18 to visit Newcastle, Morpeth, Alnwick, Seahouses and Berwick-upon-Tweed.



The nearest airport is Newcastle International, 38 miles away from Longhoughton.
