Pretty cottage in the centre of Winterton on sea which I'm sure would be great in the summer months.

Pretty cottage in the centre of Winterton on sea which I'm sure would be great in the summer months. However, we've just spent a week and have been uncomfortably cold. The house was freezing on arrival and we found the 4 electric radiators not sufficient. There are 2 log burners but owner only provides 2 fire lighters and a handful of coal. We had to buy coal, logs, kindling for a week costing over £50. Even so the bathroom was still in the shivering zone. We wouldn't recommend a winter break.

I almost don't want to say how lovely this cottage is because I want to keep it all for myself! Such a pretty place with plenty of space but also very cute and full of character. The furnishings are really nice and the beds are super comfortable. It has 2, yes 2, wood burners which would make it very cosy in winter and a nice outside courtyard garden with loads of seating and an undercover area with bar stools for eating (and another wood burner). The location is excellent with a pub round the corner (which was never noisy) and a walk to the beach, local shop and fish bar. The only thing to be aware of (and someone else mentioned this in another review) is the stairs which are part of the cottage's character. They are incredibly steep and twisty. There are rails which make it easier but anyone with small children or any hesitation with stairs should avoid. However, that is a small compromise for what is a great place to stay. Hands off!!!
