About this property

Dog-Friendly Cottage Near the Beach

Located in the centre of the village, Rose Cottage has recently been updated to provide a spacious two bedroom cottage perfect for holidays all year round. The front door leads straight into the kitchen, which has an electric cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and compact dishwasher. A table and chairs provide the perfect place for a relaxing breakfast. Or you can pop across the road to Poppy's at the Post Office for breakfast!

The spacious living room has comfortable seating, a woodburner, and a Smart TV. Stairs lead up from the living room to the landing. The main bedroom has a king size bed, and the second bedroom has a small double and a 3ft standard single bed. (Please note a blind has now been added in the second bedroom.) Upstairs you'll also find the bathroom which has a walk in shower, bath, washbasin and WC.

Outside, the paved courtyard features pretty flowerbeds along one side, creating a lovely spot to sit and unwind. There is off-road parking for one car, and Rose Cottage shares a driveway with the neighbouring property. The driveway gates can be closed, making the area enclosed for added peace of mind. Please note there is no garden or additional outdoor space behind the cottage.

Three dogs are very welcome at Rose Cottage, and it’s an ideal location for walking, with the beach just a two-minute stroll away. Dogs are welcome throughout the downstairs living areas and are even invited to join you on the sofas—just remember to bring your own throws for their comfort.

Close to everything you need

This comfortable cottage is very well placed in the centre of the village with only a short walk to the tea room, chip shop, pub and shop. Also very close to dog friendly beach that has a good cafe.

Another great stay in Rose Cottage

We had a great week despite the weather doing its best. Only two adults staying but not enough seating in sitting room for 4 to sit comfortably. Ideal situation in centre of quiet Winterton. Opposite tea room is good and fish and chips from chippy next door is the best, generous portions too. Beach is 5mins away with beautiful walks off the beach through the dunes as well. Been twice before and already booked for next time.

nice break

Despite the cold weather, we enjoyed our stay in the cosy cottage. It is very close to the excellent fish and chip shop, pub and the beach. Since we last visited a few years ago the seal colony in Horsey has expanded to Winterton's beach. A great area for wildlife watchers.

The cottage was lovely, very clean and we thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The wine and biscuits on arrival were very welcoming. It is very pet friendly. Location was fantastic. Couldn't fault it.My only feedback, if any, to the property owner would be to have a T Towel in the kitchen :).

Comfortable Holiday Home

The cottage is centrally located in the village, convenient for the post office, cafe and chip shop just across the road. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our week stay. Located in the most beautiful village and only 5 minutes walk from the beach. We would recommend and would stay again.

Right in the centre of things

Lovely cottage in the heart of Winterton on sea. Perfect for coffee and cake or a full English at Poppys cafe or walking our Poppy on the beach and sand dunes. Just perfect!

Fantastic short break

Fantastic break at Rose Cottage, easily booked through Winterton Cottages, good joining instructions and easy access. Cottage was very comfy, well equipped, effective heating system, even in the grotty cold weather we had, lovely hot shower. Comfy beds and super soft bedding. Nice welcome pack. although a pint of milk and some teabags would have made it tip top!. Central to the village, gentle amble to the beach although a bit of a slide down on the the beach through the sand dunes. had a great lunch at The Fisherman's Retreat 5 minutes walk away. Poppy's tea room on the other side of the road was good for lunch and breakfast. Wouldn't recommend the fish and chips though they were not good.

Central Village Location

The cottage was situated adjacent to the Village Shop/Post Office and Fish and Chip Shop. The home was comfortable and clean. Winterton is great place to unwind and has easy access to the beach and is a great base to explore other places in Norfolk and Suffolk. The welcome pack was very welcome.

Great cottage

We have stayed in Winterton on Sea a couple of times, first time at Rose Cottage and this is the best one so far. Great cottage, great location, very clean and well maintained. Lots of lovely walks, great pub just round the corner, along with Poppies Cafe just over the road. Can’t really ask for more for this type of holiday. Thanks

Great place to stay

We found Rose Cottage to be just what we needed for a 4 night break. Warm and clean on our arrival. With Christmas tree and decorations up. Beds and bedding extremely comfortable. Plenty of crockery, glasses and cooking equipment etc. Fabulous woodburner (although we did have to clean the door in order to see the flames ). A small supply of logs etc but we had taken our own as well. The Fish and chip shop opposite was excellent. The local shop not much further away had all we needed and not particularly over priced. I note it is for sale but selfishly hope it doesn't sell so we can stay again

Lovely cottage

We spent a lovely week at Rose cottage and were lucky.to have perfect weather. The cottage was clean and well equipped perfect for our needs. The local tea room was opposite as was the post office. A small general store is right on the doorstep and a lovely pub is minutes away. The village is very dog friendly in fact one evening there were more dogs in the pub than people. The lovely dog friendly beach is 5 mins walk away with a cafe that serves lovely cakes. I would recommend Rose cottage and winterton itself for a lovely peaceful break.

A lovely, comfortable cottage in a picturesque village

We had a wonderful stay in this comfortable home-away-from-home. The cottage and facilities were beautifully presented and very clean. The wine, biscuits and doggy treat were a fab surprise, thank you! Everything we needed was supplied (although no condiments are supplied/left by previous guests, so always take your own!) It is ideally situated on the road leading to the beach and is a short walk to a great, dog-friendly pub and other amenities. We enjoyed some great walks towards Horsey to see the seals and quiet strolls through the peaceful village itself.

Perfect for the pup

Had a wonderful stay at Rose Cottage it is a comfortable cottage in an ideal location. A 3 minute walk to the beach, opposite the tea rooms and fish and chip shop and round the corner from the pub! Ideal for people with dogs, very fog friendly cottage and area. The cottage has almost everything you need (just take your own tea towels as these were not provided). And be aware to take.a sleep mask if you awake easy to the light as there are several windows without blinds/curtains. Overall however would absolutely recommend!

A lovely stay in a well situated location

We spent 5 days in Rose Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed the getaway. We have stayed in and around Winterton a few times and welcomed staying somewhere different to get an alternative perspective. The cottage is situated right in the centre of this quiet and pleasant village, a short walk to the beach for lovely long walks, and even shorter walks to the local amenities (shops and local pub). The cottage provides all you need for a pleasant short stay with well appointed bedrooms, a sizeable bathroom and a comfortable living area. The kitchen is perfectly serviceable - and we were welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine and biscuits. A great base for a much needed holiday.

Lovely cottage, plates are too small!

I've been visiting Winterton for over 50 years on and off, and have stayed in a few cottages over recent years. Rose cottage is in a perfect location, was clean, spacious, bright and well equipped and full of character. We loved our stay and I'm sure we'll return to Rose cottage in the future. If I had one issue, it was the size of the dinner plates being a little small, although this is due more to the huge portions you get from the highly recommended Winterton fish and chip shop than a fault with the plates themselves :) All in all a great property in a fantastic location, thank you.

Perfect location

Rose Cottage is situated in the centre of Winterton right opposite Poppy’s Tea Room with lovely staff and delicious breakfasts, lunches and cakes, and close to the excellent fish & chip shop. The beach is a short stroll away and the pub is just around the corner. We stayed for a long weekend. The cottage is very cosy and has everything you need. We only used the king size bed which was comfy and good quality bedding. It was good to have off road parking behind a closed gate. It was safe for our dog to run outside with the gate closed. The only slight negative is the shower seal needs replacing as it has mould on it but the shower was otherwise clean. The kitchen had a good selection of items although we didn’t cook during our stay. It was good to have throws to put on the sofas for the dog. I would definitely stay at Rose Cottage again and it was perfect for us.
