Recognized as one of the safest and cleanest beaches in Southern California. Carpinteria has also been named one of the top 10 best swimming beaches in America.

The unit is a lovely two bedroom apartment that can sleep up to six. Located in a resort style 19 unit complex with central courtyard patio, & barbecue, heated pool (in the summer) and is centrally located near Carpinteria’s quaint downtown and pristine beaches. The complex is surrounded by gorgeous mountain views, open space and flat walks to the beach.
You can walk everywhere in Carpinteria, seconds to the beach, parks, restaurants, markets, shopping, Amtrak. Peaceful haven for relaxing and sports! Our rental is family friendly!

Our 2 bedroom apartments are artistically and individually decorated with your comfort in mind. Your furnished rental includes the comforts of good design, with a queen bed, 2 twin beds, queen sleeper sofa, dining table with 5-6 chairs, and all comforts of home! The kitchen is equipped with dinnerware, refrigerator/freezer, oven/stovetop, microwave, coffeemaker, and toaster oven so you have everything you need for meal preparation. Your rental includes, cable TV, a DVD player & free WiFi.
Enjoy lounging or swimming in our heated (summer) pool or perhaps enjoy a meal in the courtyard patio with barbecue! Wonderful restaurants nearby too!

While surrounded by the beauty of the ocean, lush parks, protected wetlands and the majestic Santa Ynez Mountains, Seashell Beach Rentals is only a 11 mile drive to Downtown Santa Barbara.

Great pool and easy walk to beach

Nice to have a pool and beach within walking distance. Easy check in. Manager friendly and accommodating. Only thing is beds were not comfortable. Very bouncy. They need to be replaced.

The apartment was nice and well stocked. It was very convenient to get to the beach. The pool was much smaller than shown. The refrigerator did not keep items very cold and our frozen items thawed. The manager did say he would rebate us some money, which we appreciated. The neighbors above could be heard moving around until after 11:00 pm every night.

Great for kids!

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The pool was so great for burning kid energy in the morning and afternoon, and you can’t beat the beachside location. Carpinteria is very walkable and lovely year round. There are no bells and whistles here but it was perfect for our needs. The property manager was very responsive when we needed more hand soap and toilet paper etc. Highly recommended!

I have two small kids and we love Sea Shell in Carpenteria. The rooms are really cozy and great for kids with a good kitchen, all appliances, everything super clean. The beds are confortable and they have a crib if you have a baby. The property has beautiful gardens and a nice pool, one block from the beach. We love it!

Canceled on us before arriving

We rented this place several months before our stay. On our way to our vacation (with a car full of children and beach gear), we received a call that somehow we had gotten double booked and no longer had a place to stay. We had to pull the car over and scramble to find a different place to vacation. We tried to make the best of it, but our new place wasn’t what we were hoping and planning for. Because we never got to check in, I can’t attest to the actual property itself. The error ruined our spring break though.

Expected so much more

We have used VRBO several times for our vacation rental needs. This time we felt duped! I had communicated through email several times with Mike, inquiring about bringing our dog. It was indicated bringing our dog would be acceptable. A contract was sent to me 2 months before our arrival date. I read, signed and returned contract with required rent and deposits immediately. 2 weeks before arrival I received a frantic phone call from "the manager" stating no pets are allowed and we didn't send enough deposit for a dog. She went on to say we needed to sent another $500.00 for possible damage caused by our dog. I agreed that I would sent the extra deposit. Upon arrival the property manager again expressed grief over our visit. She also went over the many rules they have for the complex. My first reaction was I'm being treated like a person who has never rented a vacation rental or hotel room before. OK.. whatever... The unit itself was fairly decent, but being right under the manager's unit and hearing her clomp up and down the stairs all day was unnerving. Over the course of the week these are the things we discovered: We had to make up the beds. The overhead kitchen light was out. We had 2 rolls of TP for 6 people staying for 7 days. We were told we had to buy our own. The queen bed in the master was OLD and sagged into the middle. I saw told the twin beds were of the same quality. The bath towels were old and worn. The DVD controller wasn't working, we even bought new batteries, but that wasn't the problem. AND.. the final straw was when we went to use the community BBQ we had to supply our own propane fuel, which we did not know. With steaks and fish ready for the grill, we were shocked. Fortunately a nice man let us borrow his camping propane canister. We bought a replacement for him. All in all, we had a great time in Carpinteria...but we would never stay at Seashell Apartments again!

carpinteria chill out !

location is great, 2 min walk to the beach.10 min to several restaurants and liquor store, little further to large supermarket. we needed a couple of days rest after 2 hectic weeks travelling,it was perfect. The flat is ground floor, it's not new so a little 'tired' but everything is fine , clean and perfectly functional. Laundry almost outside the door. ( only problem was finding coins !) flat is easy to find with a parking spot. We would certainly stay again. Cons- no iron !( Meant to ask for one but was so chilled didn't bother !)

Great location and host, cleanliness to be improved

The location is amazing, just 1 block from the beach. Pool is fun and clean. Nice garden in the facility. Ken was very responsive and always helped, a great host! The apt is well designed. Furniture and most appliances are rather old and the place was simply not clean (dishes were not really clean, floors were dusty, duvets need dry cleaning) . On the upside: kitchen was well equipped.

We love Carp

We’ve stayed in several places in Carp. This one not our favorite. The whole place needs updating, fridge & oven pretty sad. Patio is convenient, pool is cool, people in the building friendly.

Great Communication

I needed to rent a condo several weeks before our family vacation. Ken was responsive and accommodating. This is an older condo, but not much different from other condos in Carpentaria. The other reviews were helpful, we brought a coffee pot, toilet paper and an air mattress. This condo is close to beach and my kids enjoyed the pool. Make sure you bring quarters for laundry. Overall, we had a great experience.

The property was not well taken care of. Would not stay there again.

The property was outdated and dirty. There were no fans and ventilation was poor. Locks on the window were broken off. The couch bed did not work. There was no coffee maker and the refrigerator was not cold. The bathroom was dirty and had no ventilation. We will not be staying there again.

DON’T STAY HERE! So disappointed and grossed out

This is an old and depressing apartment building near a vacant lot and other apartment buildings. This was not what we expected a block from the beach. The apartment has very old furnishings that have been used and abused. The place is neglected and VERY DIRTY. Grim on doors that hasn’t ever been cleaned, a fan in the bathroom that is so dirty & dusty we’re not sure how it’s working, the bed sheets had stains on them, the bedding was from Grandma’s basement, a bath mat that I wouldn’t even use as a rag. We felt very uncomfortable and spent very little time here as we felt like we might get bed bugs. I don’t think we really slept as we were so disgusted with everything. The bed moved every time myself or my husband moved. It was a true bummer to our weekend getaway with our kids. The kids couldn’t believe we were staying in such a gross place. We asked for a credit and got nothing. This shouldn’t be a VRBO. I total rip off at $350 night. Next time I will stay in a hotel where I know what I’m getting. What a joke!!!

Clean and quiet

We stayed here during the week and had a great time! It is not too far from the beach and from the downtown area. The place was clean as was the complex. The only thing was that the internet connection was really slow at times. Also you only were able to connect in the living room area. We could not get a connection in the bedrooms. The manager on the site at the time was super friendly and helpful.

Great Getaway!

Wonderful stay! The apt was everything we were expecting, warm, cozy, close to the beach. We were able to take long walks at sunset and then go eat at one of the great restaurants around. Would warmly recommend it!
