Swallow Barn is set in peaceful countryside with beautiful views only a few minutes’ walk from Carsington Water.. All on the Ground Floor:
Living/dining room: Freeview TV, DVD Player, CD Player, Woodburner, French Doors Leading To Patio
Kitchen: Breakfast Area, Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Washing Machine
Bedroom: Double (4ft 6in) Bed
Shower Room: Walk-In Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Wi-Fi on site. Fuel for wood burner available locally.. Patio with garden furniture. Parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is direct access to the unfenced lake through the garden, 500 yards. . Swallow Barn is a spacious, semi-detached stone cottage, which is located all on the ground floor and just a short walk from Carsington Water. The cottage has a stunning bedroom with a beautiful wooden bed and striking oak furnishings – in keeping with its architectural design with tall ceilings and gorgeous exposed beams. The large and airy open plan living/dining room has French doors leading out to a patio.
The property is ideally situated at the southern tip of the Peak District near the picturesque market town of Ashbourne with its quaint cobbled market place and hidden alleys to explore. Carsington Water is a mere 3-minute walk away offering superb water sports, sailing and bike hire facilities with an area devoted to wildlife along with cycle and walking trails. Other places to visit nearby include Bakewell, Matlock Bath, Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House and Keddleston Hall, as well as other National Trust and English Heritage properties. It is only a short drive to Dovedale and the other lovely dales of the limestone White Peak District, which offers great walking. A little further afield, visit Alton Towers theme park for a great day out for both adults and children alike. So after a busy day exploring the beautiful area, why not open the French doors and enjoy the views over the countryside whilst sitting on the patio enjoying a BBQ on a summer day? Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
Swallow Barn can be booked together with Woodpecker Loft (UK4022), Curlew Cottage (UK4024) and Barn Owl Lodge (UK4025) to accommodate up to 24 guests.
There is limited internet signal and/or mobile reception at the property.
