My Grassmarket apartment is immediately next to Edinburgh Castle, with a stunning direct view up to the castle from the livingroom window. The Royal Mile and the Old Town are only 2 minutes walking distance. The Grassmarket is full of traditional pubs, restaurants, coffee houses and boutique shops. It is also central for Princes Street, the main shopping areas, museums and city centre tourist attractions. The location could not be better for the Festival, Hogmanay and both tourist and business visitors. It is well served by public transport and a taxi rank as well as city bus tour pick up points. A luxurious apartment in a prime location to fully enjoy Edinburgh.
The apartment itself is only recently refurbished throughout and I have made every effort to make it feel homely and comfortable. A home from home right in the heart of old Edinburgh.

Perfect view

The view from the Castle Apartment is just stunning. The check-in process was easy and location so close to everything. We had no trouble with noise from the bars, even on Friday night. Loved the architectural details in the old building. Although the entrance to the apartment may present a challenge to some, the spiral stairs add to the charm. While a few updates to the flooring and shower would make this place perfect, I would still highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh. We would definitely come again.

Only one real issue.

Shower temperature was not controllable. You either got ice cold or painfully scalding. That needs work.

Location location location

No matter what negatives I have to mention, you have a castle view and are steps away from all the old town landmarks. There are two flights of uneven spiral stairs to navigate. Any one aged or infirmed would find these hard to navigate. The bathroom is suffocatingly small and has barely enough room to turn around in. The bed, despite the addition of a topper, was lumpy, uncomfortable, and noisy. Jim

Charming and comfortable with an unparalleled view!

This apartment is perfectly located to enjoy the offerings of the old Edinburgh city center, including good food, shopping and whiskey tasting. The inside is clean and updated, charmingly furnished, and cozy. The owner was readily available and responsive to questions. And of course, the view of the castle does not disappoint! We highly recommend the Castle Apartment for your Edinburgh stay!

Look no more in Edinburgh!

Location perfect. And frankly amazing. Adorable apartment within walking distance of everything! Host was very accommodating and easy to correspond with. We felt very fortunate to find this apartment right on Grassmarket.

Central location, comfortable setting., stunning castle view with coffee

Easy in. Easy stay. Everything was as advertised. Great place. Shopping morning coffee at the table looking up at the castle was something. Bedroom is in the back of the property so NO street noise but the eateries close up about 7:00 anyway. In the morning, the area kinda rolls awake. Very fun place. Highly recommended.

Great Location

Perfect location for sightseeing. Beautiful view of the castle and Grassmarket from the dining table. The decor is a little tired, but everything worked. The bathroom is functional, but not appropriate for those suffering with claustrophobia. Although listed as available, there was no satellite television, the DVD player and its remote had a heavy layer of dust on them. The bed was comfortable and warm, but very squeaky and if one of us got up in the night, the other would be woken up from the squeaking. It is a lovely apartment, it just needs a little attention.

A great stay

Excellent apartment in the historic Grassmarket area under the walls of Edinburgh Castle. Cosy, clean and comfortable. Within a few metres, cafe’s for breakfast, old traditional pub’s for lunch and restaurant’s for dinner. A great stay, recommended.

This apartment was perfect for our needs, very clean and tidy. More kitchen than we needed, but wonderful for those who want/ need to be cooking etc. What a view!! We couldn't have been in a better place for our first visit to Edinburgh - a wonderful city....

Great spot for sight seeing.

The location of this apartment is outstanding. The photo doesn’t lie, there is a brilliant view of the castle from the lounge room window. It’s a great spot to visit the castle, ghost tours, the Royal Mile etc. apartment is well presented with comfortable bed, well organised kitchen & dining areas. The table in front of the window was a great spot for breakfast. Bathroom is definitely compact. Smoke alarms are very sensitive, allowing only a light toast of your breakfast, but I think it applies to all apartments in the block, as we could hear them going off one after the other while eating our breakfast. We stayed 4 nights. Saturday night in Grassmarket got a bit ugly outside, but we were able to retreat to the apartment and observe from a safe distance.

Edinburgh stay

Amazing location, Edinburgh Castle view right outside living room window! Short walk to see it along with Royal Mike. There are numerous restaurants and shops nearby along with 2 convenience stores to buy supplies. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again! Thanks!

Perfect Location

The Grassmarket area is a super central location for sightseeing in Edinburgh. Everything is a short walk away. I loved seeing the view of the castle from the front sitting room. Bedroom is in the back and was very quiet at night. Although we didn’t prepare our own food, the kitchen is well stocked with utensils etc. we found the flat to be very charming, even the spiral stairs to get up to it. Finally, Amanda was always very quick in responding with our questions.

Castle Apartment

The apartment was amazing and location enviable. Everything within walking or an easily accessible bus ride. The only minor complaint was that we were driving a rental car and parking was a little confusing. All in all an excellent part of our adventure and a lifetime of memories.

Room with a view!

Our stay in Edinburgh was most enjoyable. The apartment is located above Grass Market, which provides an easy walk to the old city. The apartments kitchen is well furnished with necessary cutlery and appliances. Apartment heating is very good. Bed is average. Lights in bedroom did not work. Bathroom is extremely small! The hot water fluctuations are extreme, to the point of being dangerous.

Loved the view of the castle!

The highlight of the flat was the view from the living room window of the castle - and people watching on the Grassmarket. The apartment was comfortable and well-equipped. It was easy to find. We walked everywhere - even Waverly Station and New Town are a 20 minute walk (although you probably wouldn't want to drag a suitcase up and down the hill from Waverly Station). A caution for people with mobility issues - the apartment is on the second floor with no lift, accessed by a circular staircase. Part of the charm of being in an old building!

As a family we take full advantage of everything Edinburgh has to offer including the festival, shows, history, museums, the zoo, the Britannia yacht, Dynamic Earth, scenery and walks, shopping, restaurants and occasionally night life.
Personally, I also enjoy running and cycling and I take advantage of the beach and woods for both.
I'm very proud of Edinburgh and so being a holiday let landlord is great for me, I really enjoy welcoming and helping others to make the most of the beautiful city I'm so proud of.

This beautiful apartment has been very recently refurbished throughout and is a comfortable home from home within the Grassmarket where there's so much within walking distance to enjoy.
The stair itself is also very secure.
