TWO SEPARATE LIVING ROOMS - ONE FOR YOU AND ONE FOR THE KIDS OR ANOTHER COUPLE! MAIN FLOOR: master with king bed, deck access and ensuite, USB chargers & outlets on bedside tables; living room with floor to ceiling windows showcasing sweeping long-range mountain views, 55" flat screen TV, Blu Ray/DVD Player, fireplace, kitchen and dining area, and 1/2 bath. Deck with grill, dining table, fire pit, rockers and adirondack chairs stretches across back of home to soak in those amazing mountain views. LOWER LEVEL: bedroom with queen bed, ensuite, and USB chargers & outlets on bedside tables; living room, 50" flat screen TV, Blu Ray/DVD Player, and sleeper sofa. Enjoy the same mountain views through two sliding glass doors in the living room and one sliding glass door in the bedroom. Both the living room and bedroom have access to patio area with seating to enjoy mountain views. ALL PAVED ROADS TO OUR HOME.
Located approximately 15 minutes off of I-40, we are 33 miles from Asheville, 20 miles from Lake Lure, and 18 miles from Black Mountain. Conveniently located to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Chimney Rock, Lake James, Linville Caverns, The Biltmore House, and Montreat.

Perfect vacation!!!

This was the perfect getaway for our famiily! We were able to relax in the mountains, hike during the day, and enjoy the fire at night. We felt so loved and cared for while we stayed at Mountain Lure.

Beautiful getaway on the mountains

Absolutely loved are experience! The house was clean and the check-in / check-out process was easy to follow. Beautiful views of the mountains and the host was responsive the entire stay.

Mountain Getaway

We had a wonderful, but short three night stay! The house was extremely clean, well organized and had everything you needed for your time there. The views were amazing and there are so many hiking trails to choose from that are near by. I would definitely stay again so that we could explore the area some more.

Your Own Biltmore

Staying in this amazing property is like experiencing your own private Biltmore with the breath taking views and quiet and peaceful location. You can see for miles of unblocked views all the way to Lake Lure! The house has everything you could ever need and is very comfortable.

Amazing home with amazing views!

No detail was spared with this vrbo rental! My family of 4 felt right at home and wish we could have stayed longer. Owners were super available and even provided a list of family friendly activities to do before we arrived. Can’t wait to come back to view this beautiful property in a different season.

Wonderful Mountain Oasis

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mountain Lure in May, 2024. The owners were constantly in touch before and during our stay ensuring that we were completely satisfied with our time at their rental home. The house was immaculate, well provisioned, and comfortable. The views from the bedrooms and the backyard balcony were incredible. Wonderfully quiet and relaxing, we can envision ourselves returning time and time again to this property. Thank you for offering such a great rental!

Breathtaking Mountain Views

If you’re thinking about booking, do yourself a favor and go ahead and book! The mountain view with the lake is absolutely incredible. Views aside, the house is very clean and well equipped with everything you need to feel at home during your stay. We enjoyed making meals at the house together so we could enjoy the beautiful sunrises/sunsets. We would definitely stay here again!

Girl’s weekend

This may be the most beautiful place I’ve stayed!! The home was clean, well stocked and very cozy. The drive up the mountains was gorgeous and the views from the home were spectacular!! It was everything we had hoped for in a fall getaway in the mountains. Michelle was really responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back ❤️

Our mountain getaway

We chose this house largely because of the view out the living room windows and from the deck but the entire home was a joy! The beds were very comfortable-we slept very well! The kitchen was very well stocked. The home owner Michelle was available and communication was easy. Although things we chose to do were an hour drive or so (Asheville, Biltmore, Hiking, Grandfather Mountain) it was well worth it to enjoy this home!

Breathtaking Views!

We were awestruck the moment we walked through the front door at the layered mountain view. The winding drive up the mountain was worth it! You will not be disappointed. Plus the owners have provided a well-stocked kitchen as well as bathroom essentials. They provided driving directions to Lake George and the Waterfall in the Gateway community and also nearby towns, which were very helpful. I wish we could have stayed longer. It was hard to leave.

Girls Weekend

Our stay in Old Fort was exceptional. Michelle and Dave’s property is beautifully furnished and is fully stocked with all of the kitchen gadgets you might need & some you didn’t know you needed. Michelle was lovely to work with. She was an attentive host and checked-in to make sure everything was ok during our stay. We had a minor issue and she responded immediately to take care of our problem. I would recommend Old Fort to everyone and I’ll be back soon!

Mountain Lure

The house was very clean and the mountain views were fabulous. The house had everything we needed for our stay and we enjoyed making pour over coffee each morning. The neighborhood water fall was beautiful with the afternoon sun shining on the falls. The long and winding road was an experience especially at night but well worth the drive. As a bonus, we saw a bear with 2 cubs and several turkey. Thanks for sharing your house with us.

Would Stay Again!

This place offered the best combination of a clean and useful space and a beautiful location which made it a must for those wanting a mountain getaway. The floor plan and amenities make for a comfortable stay. The pictures are an accurate reflection of this beautiful space, and the photos of the mountain view do not do the actual view justice! What a view!! The sleeping arrangements were very comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and spacious. The host was kind, helpful, and patient throughout our stay. She responded to any questions we had. Having stayed at several VRBOs around North Carolina I urge you not to pass this one up!

Amazing Stay at Mountain Lure

All I can say is every review about this house and the owners is 100% accurate. The home and views are absolutely amazing. Michelle and Dave thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay. The kitchen is stocked with every appliance, place setting, dishware and utensils you can imagine. The owners are quick to respond if you have a question and provided a ton of great recommendations, all of which we enjoyed. We definitely look forward to renting their home again and highly recommend this home to anyone. We have been raving about this trip and house to all our family and friends. We cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you again Michelle and Dave.

Wonderful Stay!

Loved the drive up the mountain, the view, ease of check-in, etc. The home is really stocked with everything you would need, including USB ports all over and 3 different types of coffee makers. I met a friend to catch up for a long weekend and we were so comfortable on the back porch hanging out. The stargazing is amazing as well from the house, we saw the international space station go by and several shooting stars. I was driving a small SUV and felt very comfortable getting up and down the mountain, but would have had a little trouble in a small car. The drive to downtown Asheville was about 40/45 minutes and didn’t bother us at all the few times we went into town. Hope to go back sometime soon!

Amazing amazing amazing

First, pictures do not do the views ANY justice, they are absolutely majestic. My wife and I only had a couple day stay, but everything was perfect. A first for me is the entire house had labels on where things are and what light switches turn on what lights. This was extremely helpful. We actually forgot that there was a downstairs with extra space, so definitely have room to bring our kiddos. Since we didn't have a long visit my wife and I didn't bring many items with us. If you need your coffee first thing in the AM make sure to bring some with you as the drive down the mountain is beautiful, but long. We would love to come back and enjoy a stay for longer next time.

What a great stay!!

Everything about this property is as stated in the description. It's a great home in a great location. Very relaxing. The owners were EXTREMELY accommodating for us. We had to reschedule our initial stay due to weather. No problem. The day after arrival on this stay, we were out exploring and it started to snow (4 hours earlier than predicted). When we got to the entrance, we could not navigate up the hill to the house, so we walked it. We let the owners know about leaving our car and they were very good in telling us about the future road conditions as reported by the neighborhood POA. They told us we could stay an extra day if necessary due to the weather. We will be back in the future for another stay!!

We love spending time on the deck - bird watching and looking for other wildlife while taking in the beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains around Lake Lure! We rarely spend time indoors as the beauty of the area is too tempting to miss! We enjoy hiking, birding, wildlife & landscape photography and just spending time in nature.

We chose this home because it has everything we wanted for our dream vacation home--a tranquil setting with amazing views where we could enjoy nature, unwind and relax. We found all of this and more in our Gateway Mountain home. We trust that you will enjoy our little piece of paradise as much as we do!
