The listing was accurate - this is an elegant and spacious apartment. Marie de Jesus and her husband greeted us early due to our bus from Batalha changing to an earlier schedule. The apartment is up one flight with an elevator available. Very comfortable with fully supplied kitchen, bathroom and laundry. The location was very good: about 20 min down to Pombal circle metro station and start of Ave Liberdade; about 15 min up to Mercado 31 Jan for shops and restaurants; a market 1/2 block away; and several restaurants within a block. We liked Mr. Honda nearby for okonomiyaki, Floresta do Salitre for traditional and the Italian restaurant in Mercado 31 Jan. We liked to walk down Ave Liberdade to the downtown area and metro back after the day's outing. This apt and hosts are genuine gems in Lisbon. ( FYI: unless you enjoy eating in extremely crowded and noisy conditions, avoid the Time Out Market.)

Absolutely wonderful spot for our first week in Lisboa. The home is building and home are secure and private. Loved having access to a washing machine too. Some minor issues getting communications established initially but once that was figured out it was all smooth. Any communications with Diogo were replied to in a timely manner. Would be happy to stay on our next visit to Lisboa.

This place has so much to offer. Lots of space, outside sitting area. Plenty to do in walking distance. There are plenty of restaurants on the doorstep. Highly recommend Chu Chu and Lidia restaurant and bar, we ate there a few times. There are also quite a few supermarkets if you choose to eat in. The apartment has everything you need to prepare food. Our host who met us was so helpful and friendly, he even text to check all was ok. When we arrived there was wine and cake to welcome us. Would highly recommend and if staying in lisbon I would definitely stay here if available.

Really enjoyable holiday

This lovely apartment is in a great location close to public transportation, markets, and restaurants. Diogo made me feel at home and also looked after in a foreign country. From beginning to end my stay with them was pleasant and I would like to stay here again if I return to Portugal.

This apartment is everything you could wish for and more! Walkable location with a safe, secure spot to park your small car. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming. Wonderful Lisbon Experience

We had a fantastic stay! Diogo and Caroline are amazing hosts and made sure we had a great stay in their beautiful home. They were so helpful with ideas on where to go and what to do. We were sad we could not enjoy their lovely outdoor patio due to rain. We did use their underground parking which is tight so make sure your car is not too big. Diogo helped us navigate the parking and we left the car there until we left. The apartment is beautifully furnished and super clean. It’s a great location with a 10 minute walk to the metro and 3 stops from downtown. Thank you Diogo and Caroline for your wonderful hospitality!

VERY LARGE COMFORTABLE APARTMENT, VERY WELL EQUIPED GROCERY STORE RIGHT UNDERNEATH AND LARGE SUPER MARKET 1/4 MILE AWAY OR 4 MINUTES WALKING/ WALK TO RUA LIBERDA OR TAXI ANYWHERE YOU WANT TO GO. ROSSIO OR METRO EVERYWHERE. IF THERE IS ONE UPGRADE I WOULD MAKE TO THIS WONDERFUL APARTMENT IS TO UPSIZE THE BED, AS IT IS A DOUBLE AND SMALL FOR TWO PEOPLE, NEEDS TO BE QUEEN OR KING SIZE.. We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay in this comfortable apartment which is properly furnished and in a very clean and perfect state. The back yard, next to the kitchen and to the bedroom, is also very important to be mentioned as it offers the possibility to take the breakfast or the supper outside in a calm atmosphere. The kitchen is also completely equipped to ensure the self catering and cooking as if you were at your own home. The owner's of the appartment are very friendly and they prepared especially for our arrival a delicious welcome snack and a bottle of red wine. We are really delighted by their kindness and the charming accomodation. Without any doubt nor hesitation, we surely will try to stay in the same apartment the next time we come to Lisbon.

Great apartment in a great location to see Lisbon in all its glory!

This apartment is large and very tastefully decorated you may think you are royalty come to visit Lisbon. Maria's son, Diogo met us exactly on time and he was charming and helpful in giving us all the information we needed to get started on our adventure. We had a 10 minute walk to the Metro at Marques de Pombal and there were stores nearby to get whatever you needed. There are good restaurants nearly and within walking distance. The area of the city is safe and you can walk or take the Metro without concern at night. During our stay Maria checked in by email to make sure everything was okay. It is the small treats left for us and the concern that our visit be a good one that makes these hosts exceptional. We would definately return to this property and highly recommend it to family and friends.

Very nice apartment, but ...

Spacious, tidy apartment with full living room, kitchen and bath and terrace for warmer weather. Sadly, though, landlord controls heat and seemed content with providing 9 hours' worth daily. After 4 days of wrangling he finally boosted it - to 11 hours! If heat is that precious a commodity, adjust your prices. Or don't rent it out. But don't be a cheapskate. Also, heavy construction in next building (they share walls). Around 8 AM M-F jackhammers, power equipment fires up. Most unpleasant. I'd stay here again. But only after the remodeling moves to another sector. And only after getting ironclad guarantee from landlord (otherwise a very decent guy) he'll provide heat on your terms, not his. Note: Sometimes happens in Portugal that there is no central heat in a property. They just use space heaters or bundle up.

A stay at Grandmother’s Apartment

Decorated with beautiful furniture pieces- you’ll feel at home when you arrive- especially with the warm hospitality of the owners Diogo and Maria. Diogo greeted us with a bottle of wine and special Portuguese treats when we arrived! The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and we were able to make use of the washing machine too- there is a nice patio in the back where you can enjoy coffee or meals - and hang your clothes to dry. The area is hilly, but for those who are younger with strong legs :-) there is alot that is close by including metro and bus- as well as Avenida de Liberdade- famed for it’s exclusive shops, restaurants, and cafes. There is also a market downstairs with friendly shop keepers with just about anything you would need- the mangos were particularly good there! And El Corte Ingles is close by with everything you can imagine with 8 floors of high end shopping- and a grocery store too-and entrance to the metro… the top floor is filled with restaurants and the view from there of the Lisbon skyline is amazing - I broke my leg a couple of months prior to traveling so we did less walking and mainly used the Phone App for Bolt taxi service (like Uber) for transportation, which is very easy and affordable and will usually pick you up in about 5 minutes in front of the building and most trips are under $5.00 depending on the time of day. For me the bed was hard and not comfortable, but acceptable when I added some blankets under the sheets for extra cushion- and there is also a pull out sofa bed in the living room. Also there is construction going on in the area which is true in much of Lisbon- but it didn’t really bother us as we were usually out during the daytime touring Lisbon. Thank you Maria and Diogo for being excellent hosts - we had a very nice stay!

Lovely apartment

Accommodated early check-in! Diago very welcoming. Lovely gift of local wine, cheese, jam and fruit . Easy access to transportation or walkable! Spotlessly clean. Very handy mini mart next door. Bed is a bit small and very firm. Construction on building adjacent from 830-6ish, but not on the weekend thankfully. If you rise early and plan on being out all day, not a problem. Patio was nice to have.
