The house needs some much-needed updates. While we enjoyed the hot tub, it was too cool to go in the pool. Think the outdoors is the selling feature. The inside of the house needs updating and even the landscape is pretty neglected.

Hi Susan, we apologize that our property did not meet your expectations. The house is exactly as shown on the pictures. We have also clarified in the title and description of the listing that this is a “rustic” house and have set the rates accordingly. Otherwise, both the pool and hot tub are heated.
We strive to provide the best experience for our guests. I wish you had reached out to us at check-in and let us know you were unhappy with the house so we could have refunded you. Since we did not hear from you, we thought you had enjoyed your stay.
Rent this house for the outside, not the inside. The inside is basic but has everything you need. The outside is fantastic! We loved the pool and hot tub, both of which are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The large seating area, which includes a long dining table and lounge chairs, makes being outside very comfortable. And the outdoor fire pit and entertainment center are so much fun. You can have a luxurious, indulgent vacation without ever leaving the property. Our best days were spent hanging out at the pool during the day, barbecuing for dinner, and then watching movies by the fire. You really never have to leave, nor will you want to.
This property has a pool and hot tub that my kids loved playing in. I'd say this was the main reason for getting the property and that it's about 1.2 miles walking into town. The house is definitely small though and the floors do creak when you walk upstairs. It's definitely an older house and it felt crammed at times. Also, there is no AC on the main floor, which was clearly mentioned in the listing, but in July it gets very hot inside. The rooms do have AC. That said, the outside area was a huge draw for us and the pool really was what occupied my kids (though there is no pool cover, so we had our eyes on younger ones like a hawk). The owners/caretakers were very easy to communicate with and very responsive.
We have been spending years on Nantucket for Thanksgiving. When the house we spend our Thanksgiving celebration at, had sold this year we booked this house for the 1st time. The house was great, room at the table for 10 adults and the kitchen had plenty of counter space for the turkey and all our sides. Since it was November we couldn't use the beautiful pool or spa, but we did use the propane fire pit and large movie screen outside. It is an older home but large bedrooms with big tv's and both bathrooms look newly renovated. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need for a fantastic meal or a relaxing breakfast. The kitchen with open living room was great since I spend a lot of time cooking, your able to cook and still socialize with the family. No views being the neighborhood it is in but great spot with walking distance to supermarket, Cumberland farms and a few restaurant's. Or you can walk just a little further to downtown main street. The host was incredibly communicative with any and all of our needs, thanks again for everything.
We enjoyed another week on Nantucket. The new pool and outside cinema are great. The house needs attention though. Suggest new beds, furniture and less noisy airco’s. All in all a bit expensive for what you get. But hey, it’s Nantucket and it is about outdoor living and beaches, so overall lovely stay.
This is a great house if you plan to spend time outside by the new pool and hot tub. There is also a great BBQ area and nice dining area. The house is small but can accomodate a lot of guests. It has some wear to it, but is highly functional. You can walk to coffee and town (25 min), take the bus, bike or drive so location is fairly central.
The property is exactly as described - rustic and homey with plenty of well thought out space. The backyard is incredible! It’s huge, the pool and hot tub are fantastic. The seating was plentiful and comfortable. We also loved the fire pit for s’mores. It’s in a perfect location and so close to the beach and town. Iliana was great and super responsive. We hope to return!
House was great, the owner was great to work with. The house is function, not alot of art or pictures, but we where walking into downtown all the time so we saw the island! Great place at a great price for Nantucket.
