Great Vacation Stay

The house was very beautiful, spacious, and clean. The surroundings and view from the balcony were very pretty. This Mount Mitchell area was a wonderful experience for a family vacation.

The house was very nice. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, dishes and glasses. The location was gorgeous and the area so peaceful! We walked daily and took our dogs to the park area nearby! Beautiful waterfall not far away that is an easy walk and our dogs enjoyed all the smells! It was a relaxing long weekend. A few things for improvement: There was no mention of a pet fee or an additional cleaning fee in the description. The host did tell me about them after I submitted my booking and I mentioned that I would be bringing my two dogs (description stated pets allowed). The fees are not bad, but when I originally booked it stated all fees included and these were not…It was not as clean as I would have hoped. There were crumbs on the table cloth, lots of dust on furniture, grease on the stove and microwave (sticky), some dirty dishes and cups in the cupboards and the grill has rust and had to be covered with foil.The white towels in the bathroom are old and grayish brown stained. They should be bleached or replaced. It gives the appearance of them being dirty. There was also a dehumidifier downstairs in the bedroom doorway with a hose running to the shower in the bathroom. I understand a dehumidifier may be necessary but totally inconvenient location. Luckily we were not in need of the downstairs bedroom.All in all it was a very nice location, we did have a GREAT time and I would not hesitate to stay again!!!

Great house!

We enjoyed staying at this property. The house is very comfortable and clean. It’s well stocked throughout and kitchen has everything. All beds were comfortable. Views from the porch are wonderful and the location is extremely convenient to many hiking trails and Mt. Mitchell. We would definitely like to stay here again.

Mountain Getaway

The house was great. Beautiful pond setting, nicely decorated, very comfortable, well equipped with everything we needed and more. We've been to this area several times but first stay in this lovely home. We'll be back!

Mountain Retreat

Private home set back by a pond with a creek running through the front yard, that our dog loved. The house is open with a nice flow throughout the one floor. The back door leads to a back yard run for our older dog, so she did not have to use the stairs. Perfect place for our vacation.

Comfortable and Reasonable

The house is older but is clean and in a good neighborhood. Beds and bathrooms were perfect. That's my one complaint with some VRBOs but beds were comfortable and all three bathrooms worked for 6'+ males. I would highly recommend the property to anyone looking for a quiet comfortable stay at a reasonable price.

Golf, Hike and Relaxation all with a View

Our stay was wonderful. Place was just as described. We did not need to contact the owner everything was in the book. This is a great place to do a lot of moderate to difficult hikes and golf was hands down awesome...what a view. Neighborhood is so peaceful, and house is spacious. Maxx our Aussie Border Collie loved it too. We will be back.

We enjoyed our stay here at Pond View. Nice neighborhood and friendly neighbors. The house itself could use some updates, but it still had pretty much everything we needed and didn't keep us from enjoying our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and check-in was easy. Gary was very responsive and willing to help. We wish we could have fished in the pond out front, but still enjoyed the beauty of it and being able to walk the loop around it. The mountain views were wonderful, too. The walk-in shower was great for my older parents. The big, open dining room/living area was nice as well. We also enjoyed the deck for relaxing and eating. And loved that it was pet friendly. It's hard to find nice places that allow pets sometimes. The only thing that we could have used was an ironing board/iron. Also, the shower downstairs is missing a handle for the wand, so we weren't able to use that. Other than that, we really enjoyed the stay and would come back again.
