Close to the Duomo and the Uffizi, welcoming and independent on the ground floor
The location is very central: a few steps from the Duomo, the city center, but also from Santa Croce, Palazzo Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and all the main museums and places to visit in Florence. The street is quiet, but the adjacent neighborhood is full of life and small restaurants that welcome both locals and visiting tourists with their inviting menus. The choice ranges from the restaurant adjacent to the Synagogue, with kosher food, to vegan and vegetarian restaurants, to others with typical Tuscan cuisine, to small bistros that offer interesting alternatives for a quick snack. A well-stocked supermarket is about 50 meters from the apartment, open until 9:00 PM, even on Sundays. Public transportation is in the adjacent street, but you will not need to use it unless you want to reach Fiesole or other more distant places (Piazzale Michelangelo is about 30 minutes away on foot). The apartment is equipped with a dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, electric oven, hairdryer, wi-fi, iron and ironing board (on request), as well as sheets and towels. The bedroom has a double bed; in a niche there is a bunk bed. At the entrance / living room there is a cozy sofa, flanked by an armchair for relaxing moments. The kitchen, very equipped, has everything you need to prepare meals of all kinds. An American coffee machine is available, as well as the Italian one. Near the apartment: a supermarket, a pharmacy, gyms, spas, restaurants, shops and everything that can make your stay pleasant. For those arriving by car there are many parking spaces available: I will take care of giving you all the information you need to leave your car safely.
A late check in (from 20:00 to 23:00) will costs 30 euro more. Check-in after 23:00 on requests, at the costs of 50 eur. A late check out (till 13:00), when possible, will cost 20 euros.
From 1 July 2011 the Municipality of Florence established the tourist tax with resolution of the City Council No. 230/33 of 20/06/2011, supplemented with resolution No. 21/2012. Attentive and helpful host. Located in the heart of the city center. Close to many sites and great dining and shopping. City life is humming all around!
We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was extremely spacious, especially in comparison to everywhere else we stayed in Italy. There is definitely some street noise at night, so may recommend bringing a white noise machine if you’re a light sleeper. Close proximity to plenty of dining and site seeing. We would stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay . The apartment was exactly as advertised. Full kitchen, complete with cooking oils , some spices. The cooktop vent didn’t work but they’re going to get it attended to. Lots of guide books and lists of recommendations for dining options. Strong wifi too. Comfortable bed. Bonus bunk beds.Big bonus for us, no stairs!
Great location, near the st ambrogio market. First floor was wonderful. Hosts were very helpful. Apartment was quite spacious for the two of us. We loved Florence and would not hesitate to stay here again.
Very much enjoyed our 5 day stay at Casa de Pepe. Very clean, with all necessary amenities including a much appreciated American coffee maker. Terrific central location. Highly recommend.

The host was so kind and flexible. Helped me feel comfortable especially navigating a new city. I'd say they went above and beyond. The house is cute and comfortable, everything you need. It is right on the street in a neighborhood which honestly being in a neighborhood in Florence opened up better dining experiences. Still walkable and I felt safe as a solo, female traveler on the streets etc.
The location was convenient. The apt had a strange odor. There were lots of air fresheners but they were all empty. The sheets were nice, the towels were a bit worn. The apt needs a refresh.

Are you sure you are talking about our apartment? The bathroom has been recently renewed with a new glass shower, and the washing machine is not much older than three years. We have painted the whole apartment one year ago, and the cover sheet of the sofa is renewed any year. Stoves are new and we cannot figure out what should we have to refresh.
Sheets and towels are from the cleaning service and we haven't had any claim before.
Anyway we can surely improve our welcoming, but we will be glad to know which things we have to change.
We enjoyed three wonderful nights at the “Close to the Duomo” apartment in May 2025. The apartment is very clean and perfectly furnished. Agnese the property manager was responsive, professional, and polite. I highly recommend the “Close to the Duomo” apartment for your next visit to fabulous Florence.

This was our first visit to Florence and we were not disappointed. The apartment is on the ground floor and easy to access with luggage. It is a short walk to all of the major city sights. Communication with the owner was excellent. The apartment was comfortable and met our needs for the three nights we were there. Excellent location and a local, well stocked grocery store is just down the street.

Annalisa's apartment was beautiful and very well maintained. We only spent 2 nights but it was a very nice environment and well equipped place to stay. Her daughter Sarah met us upon arrival and we were able to check in and leave our luggage a bit earlier than originally confirmed, she was very hospitable and gave us great information and suggestions on where to visit and eat like a local.

Thank you for your review! Our family work together to make your staying confortable!
What a great location, nice features, well set up. Wonderful people! Truly enjoyed our stay. Had some trouble with the drying of clothes in the machine but that is my ignorance on the machine and I just hung everything.
The place was great and we will come back again.

Thank you a lot for your review!
Hoping to see you again one day or another.
Check-in was somewhat confused. Place was not ready and was given a quick cleaning. I thought the place had two bedrooms but it really only had one with a wall between but there was no door and you had to go through the adjoining bedroom to go to the bathroom.

Hi France, sorry for the check-i. As explained, the previous guests locked the gate and the cleaning service could not enter, that's the reason for the delay.
About the two rooms: in any part of the listing it is written that we have two bedrooms. The home is 60 mq, that is larger than the medium of the apartment in Florence, and has one bedroom at all. If you had explained me that you needed two separate rooms, we could take into consideration the sofa bed at the entrance. The photos are clear and I am sorry you thought to find something different.

Great location, close to Duomo, Uffizi, Vecchio. Space in the apartment was great, Kitchen was good enough for a home cooked meal. Clothes washer/dryer comber worked well! It has all you need to stay for several days, a week. Road traffic till 10:30 each night. Small shower. Please update the mattress to match the rest of your lovely home.
Annalisa and Vincenzo's apartment is charming and well appointed. Vincenzo met us at the apartment; gave a tour and tips of the spacious place. Annalisa provided a great notebook for suggestions of local restaurants, grocery, gelatorias, and attractions.Annalisa communicated via text before, during, and after our marvelous stay. While there isn't parking on site, there are garages nearby. Our stay fell during a particularly rainy time in Florence. Air fresheners and room heaters helped make the apartment feel cozy. The location of the apartment is perfect. We easily walked throughout the city. So much to discover; wish we could've stayed longer.

In a great location that is generally clean and felt safe. Close to many services and attractions. Nice apartment with many amenities. A good amount of city noise was present late into the evening. The main downside was that there were many insects and spiders. We were all bitten each night, all over. It was truly unpleasant, uncomfortable and unattractive. One of the bunk beds smelled of weed. Lastly, it would’ve been preferable to receive two house keys so people in our party could move independently.
This apartment was perfect for our stay. It is a little far from the train station. Be sure you know how to get on the tram and then either walk or take the bus to get closer to this location. We walked a lot as it never was convenient to get a taxi to/from there. Use Freenow or ItTaxi. Many thanks to Vincent for waiting on us as we were delayed from the train station to get there trying to figure out their transit system at first. And when we left neither us or Annalise could summons a taxi because it was a national holiday we had to walk with luggage again far away to get to tram because buses were not running regularly. The tram is great. Conad City (grocery store)has prepped meals to buy if you want to eat in. Use Unicredit for the ATM down the street. The restaurant not far down the street was a Restaurant by Chef Eric which was delicious, we ate there several times. There are coffee shops close by also. There is some outside noise I could hear since the streets are so narrow and right next to the building but did not wake me up it’s just how narrow the street is when cars or scooters go through or people are talking when they walk down the street. Annalise was so kind to answer any questions we had about the area. She told us where to find an authentic leather shop. It was great to have a washer/dryer midway of our trip. Just like anywhere we go, by the time it’s time to go we have figured out navigation and public transit systems. Finche non ci incontreremo di nuovo!
This was our first experience with any kind of Home Away/Airbnb place and it was great! Annalisa left a nice book of information about the area and instructions on how to use everything. The apartment is close to everything so we could walk everywhere. The area felt safe too. It can be a little noisy so bring earplugs and it won't matter. We would stay there again!
My husband and I stayed at Annalisa's apartment for 4 nights on our visit to Florence. She graciously allowed us to check in early due to our flight arrival. The locations was great and we could easily walk to the Uffizi and the Duomo. It was very convenient having the washer and dryer. The only slight issue is the shower pan has ridges which are uncomfortable on one's feet and there weren't enough hooks to hang up towels. We would definitely stay there again!
We were very happy with our stay. The owner left detailed instructions on how to work the washing machine. We really appreciated the ground floor entry after so many stairs elsewhere. The kitchen was very well stocked, with cooking utensils and a larger refrigerator. There was a grocery store near by. The owner met us at the apartment for check in and when we had trouble arranging for a taxi to pick us up she arranged that for us

About the host
Hosted by Annalisa Scopinaro
We are a typical italian family, with three childreen crazy and happy. We like a lot travelling and knowing people, we are falled in love with our city and we should give the chance to all to know it better, expecially families that have children - as we are. This is the reason we have superior equipment for children. Anyway, our apt is very suitable for couples too, in a romantic tour or only friends. The very central position allow to enjoy the visit of Florence with no thinks about transporting. We live in the outskirts of Florence, even if work and school are in the center of the city. In our spare time we like to go around Florence as tourists do. If you stay for a longer time, we are very happy if you can come for a dinner in our home: I like a lot cooking and it's a chance to exchange opinions, way of life and to taste some tuscan food (I do hand made pasta, for example....).
Why they chose this property
An apt in the center of the city was a dream we kept in a drawer; two years ago we had the chance to buy one and, while our children grow, we provide it to tourists.
What makes this property unique
What we liked in our house is fully autonomous (date direct from the entrance ) , quiet street , the proximity to all the major monuments and museums of Florence and its beautiful vaulted ceilings !!! We are pleased that our guests feel at home , finding available a set of basic necessities without having to buy everything ; then also we provide dishwasher detergents and washing machine , as well as table cloths and tea towels . For romantic evenings we leave available to crystal glasses and candles . The small collection of glass and crystal shelf ensures less aseptic atmosphere in favor of a welcoming climate.
