About this property

Large 3 bedroom / 3 bath A-frame cottage, one block from Walloon Lake. The cottage offers an oversize deck for entertaining with picturesque views of Walloon lake. The large open family room with vaulted ceiling is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy Summer/Fall evenings. Amenities include wood floors, fireplace, central air, cable, knotty-pine paneling and a fully furnished home with all major appliances, including washer/dryer. For those that did not know, Ernest Hemingway spent boyhood summers on the lake with his family and used Walloon as the setting for his famed Nick Adams stories. In addition, you are a 10 minute lake path walk away from local stores, eateries and the public beach. And a 15 minute drive from five historic lake towns (Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix, Bay Harbor and Boyne City). A trip to Mackinac Island is a must and is only a few hours away. Weekly and monthly Rentals are available. None Smoking and No Pets Allowed.

Garbage must be put in the Garbage Can (Green Lid) and placed at end of the driveway for MONDAY pickup. Do not flush feminine products down toilets.

A Walloon Retreat

Woodsy and comfortable older home. Convenient to Walloon Lake Village ( 10 minute brisk walk) and within site of the lake. All amenities as advertised but coffee maker needs replacement. A quiet get-a-way.

Cozy home in Walloon

We stayed here as a family of four for 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. The home is not located directly on the water, but is a short 0.5 mile walk to the village, including Tommy’s boat rental, Barrel Back, and the general store. The house is comfortable, nothing fancy, but feels as if you’re staying with family or friends in their home. Thank you for letting us stay!

Family wedding stay

We came to Walloon for my daughters wedding and stayed the week. It was a great house for our family. The deck was a great gathering space, we enjoyed the fire pit, walking the path, the quaint stores at the foot. Went paddle boarding and played pickle ball at the park. House was very comfortable and kitchen well equipped. The 3 full bathrooms made it easy to get ready and after the Beach. Host always replied to my questions promptly. Thank you.

Great location and very well equipped

The home is very well maintained and equipped with everything we might need. The beds were comfortable. The living gathering spaces were many and gave us room for conversations and sharing.
