Absolutely loved this property! The host, Kay was wonderful and so nice and really went out of her way to make sure we had a great trip!!The house was very well stocked with everything you need and decorated so cute! Loved the back porch and swing and the outside little free library.. so cute!!Enjoyed the fishing and caught the biggest trout I will probably ever catch in my life.. really enjoyed this!!!Just an overall relaxing and great experience! Will definitely go back and recommend to others! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!
Brought the hubby for a quick getaway. Loved sitting on porch rocking and listening to creek. So peaceful. Great place to recharge before going back to reality.
This mountain stream cabin surpassed expectations! It's in a wonderful location with a nice variety of activities in the nearby area, and lots of games and equipment for use on the property. It is very nicely furnished and immaculate. We enjoyed sitting on the outdoor porch listening to the water passing by every night!
The property was amazing! The picture does not do it justice. The outdoor space was so inviting and relaxing and romantic for couples. The wifi signal was strong and allowed you to use your modern conveniences. Cant wait to get back there!
Nice little cabin, very clean, located centrally so there’s a lot of places around & within an hour or so drive. Kay was so nice to work with again. We have stayed in 2 of her places & both did not disappoint. She even stocked with groceries for a small fee.
The cabin was easy to locate with host directions and upon arrival, we were thrilled! On the river, immaculate, beautifully decorated and stocked better than any home I’ve previously rented. We love to cook and the kitchen had everything we needed. The porch overlooking river was peaceful and relaxing. Our gracious Host was thoughtful in every aspect. We stayed 5 days and no doubt, , we want to visit this cabin again.
Really enjoyed the house. Love the river that runs right to the backyard. Easy access to get in and splash around, lots of fun. House was clean, kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of room for 2 adults. Comfy beds. Loved the back porch. We sat out there and played cards and listened to the river. Highly recommend.
If you are wanting a mountain trip but don’t want the touristy mountain towns in NC, this is the place. Mountain Rest is a quiet little town with beautiful scenery, waterfalls, hiking trails, and scenic rivers. Boar Hogs place was just what we wanted. A little privacy and a beautiful river to play in. Stepping out on the frack Deck and overlooking the river was my favorite. Host was the best. Even invited us over for homemade ice cream.
We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and that is a big deal to me. The only issue we had was getting the tv to work. When we did get it to work, the volume kept going out so there was no sound. It wasnt a big deal but i just thought i would mention it. Thank you again for your hospitality.
Perfect tucked-away cabin on the river. We spent a lot of time on the back porch swing, listening to the river and watching the rain. It was so relaxing! The owners are the nicest people on the planet and go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to be back soon!
We enjoyed our two night stay. Highlights were fishing in the river with very good success around 8pm, grilling burgers, and sitting by the fire pit. We also enjoyed playing Jumangi on the back porch while hearing the river. We drove down to Wahalla and enjoyed coffee and local made chocolate chip banana bread pudding at Gather Uptown. We also visited the Chattooga River Fly Shop and picked up a few Father's day gifts and had great conversation. A trip to this area is not complete until you go to Fraisers General Store for fishing stories and tales about Boarhog and Slick.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boarshead! Kay was incredibly accommodating to our every need and was very responsive with questions. The cabin is beautifully appointed and well stocked with all essentials needed. The river flowing behind the cabin called our name and we enjoyed fly fishing right from the comfort of the property. We have already booked our next stay as we enjoyed it so much!
Spent a week at the Boarhog’s Place with my husband and my son. This place is unbelievable!! From the moment we turned the corner on that rocky Riverside Lane, we saw home! We were greeted by beautifully manicured landscaping, an amazing view and the peaceful sound of birds chirping and the trickle of the Chauga River. We let ourselves in to the house with the keypad lock and we walked into a very fresh smelling, immaculately clean home. I loved the subtle farmhouse style the home was decorated with. The kitchen is beautifully done with brand new appliances which we made great use of. The beds were super comfy. I loved all the little touches around the home that really enabled us to have a relaxing family retreat like the bath and beach towels, kitchen utensils, and use of the grill, hammock, and corn hole. They even provided us with a list of restaurants and sites/activities to see and do in the area, which was very handy because cell signal was non-existent once you leave the safety of the free wi-fi provided in the home. One night I had asked Kay if my husband could used a few pieces of firewood from the shed on the property so that we could make s’mores. It rained that night due to rain but Kay was not hesitant at all to let us know that Keevin said we could use the wood. We did make a short-lived fire though before the rain hit. And I wasn’t even mad about the rain. I love the sound of rain on a tin roof! Most days, my son had a blast playing in the river. My husband and I could not get enough of the back porch, soaking it all in. We took a day trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN; visited the stump tunnel; and did some shopping in downtown Walhalla. The only problem I had with this place was that I had a difficult time choosing which way I wanted to relax next! My family and I were very sad to leave on checkout day. Kay and Keevin are amazing hosts. Communication was very easy but they gave us our privacy as well. My husband and I have decided to make it a yearly tradition to stay here if the dates are available! I can’t wait to come back next year! You are truly missing out on an amazing place if you don’t stay here!
We came here to do some zip lining and rafting through Wildwater on the Chattooga and lucked into finding this cabin. It was comfortable, very clean and pleasant and we really enjoyed our 3 nights here. We would definitely stay here again.
