About this property

An all day sun, quiet, with great views holiday home

This home is great for a family vacation, or up to 2 couples to enjoy, with a flat lawn section for the kids, while safe and being watched from the back deck,a small playground is just a few min walk down to the reserve. Go out and enjoy the activities, like the Abel Tasman Park, great for a short walk or a trip down on the boat and a 2-3 hr walk back. If shopping is your thing, then we have within 10mins a mall with over 70 stores, or head into Nelson city for a wide variety of shops with a large cafe culture, you are bound to find your coffee fix.
Head away from the city to the award winning wineries, and craft beer breweries, arts and crafts little hideaways. Be part of the Great Tasman Cycleway, bring your own bikes or available for hire at a number of places, and cycle anywhere just locally, or head out a bit further and stop at a cafe for lunch somewhere.
Day trips are a must to either beautiful Golden Bay, or over the Northeast to Havelock, a lovely drive over to both these places, with breath taking views, and many stops to be had along the way for a rest, photos ,or just to appreciate the beauty around you.
We also have Tahunanui Beach just 10 mins away, a great safe beach with a playground and bbq facilities for the family, you can also do a little paddle boarding if you wish.
( paddle boards for hire at beach). 50 mins away we have the famous golden sand beaches of Kaiteriteri, great swimming,kayaking, walks and a beachfront cafe.

Tranquil, private, beautiful views.

Wonderful, spotless clean, modern home. Great views from balcony and main rooms over city and ocean. Large peaceful private rear yard with big trees and lawn. Loved it !

Beautiful home

Lovely home with a wonderful view, complete with gorgeous sunsets! The house is well appointed with a full kitchen and bbq, comfortable beds, showers, tub, and laundry. David and Maree were easy to communicate with and provided travel information and tips. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Delightful Stay in Stoke

Lovely house, beautiful views. Clean, tidy and very well equipped, had everything we needed. Only recommendation would be a hair dryer - these are bulky to carry in suitcases when travelling overseas. Hosts lovely to communicate with. Thanks Maree and David!

Marvellous spot on the hill

We were originally booked to stay 9 nights at Maree and David's place but only got to enjoy 4 nights due to a medical emergency. Our shortened stay was delightful and we very much enjoyed the views from the elevated position and the comfort the property provided. All the other reviews are accurate in describing what the property offers. We very much appreciated the bird song in the surrounding area.We were sorry to have to leave the property in such a rush and appreciated David and Maree's help to allow that to happen. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous view

We spent 6 wonderful nights in this lovely house. Very warm and modern with the option of two different decks to choose to sit on. Owners were helpful and contactable. Very relaxing with birds in the backyard . Loved how there were empty drawers and cupboard space to unpack into. Would stay here again and definitely recommend it.

Fantastic Home in Great Location, Didn't Want to Leave

We absolutely loved our stay at this home. It is in a prime location with good sunlight and great views towards Motueka / Rabbit Island. Out back is a peaceful and safe yard with plenty of room and also home to a few Tui's. Having the trees around really makes it feel like a nice secluded area and not just back to back housing. The upper balcony looks also over Nelson Airport so makes a great spot for watching planes landing and taking off. Depending on the wind you might hear some engine noise from the runway but it was certainly not loud enough to be of any issue, just faint enough to know in case we wanted to get up and look. The lights in the city look amazing at night. The house is well equipped with everything we could need and the 'starter pack' in the fridge when we arrived was a very nice touch. There are enough cups and plates and bowls etc. to never worry about running out of kitchen items. On arrival the house was well presented, and cleaned to an exceptionally high standard. You are also set with cooling and heating so temperature was never an issue for us. The only suggestion for improvement we have would be a slightly higher shower head for tall people. Beds and couches are very comfortable. We found the location of the home just right. Trips to Richmond were easy when we needed groceries or a quick K-Mart shop but it is also close enough to Nelson that you can drive over and look around fairly quickly. It is a very short drive to get on the highways towards Mapua or Takaka so those day trips can start without the hassle of getting through town first. We only needed to contact the hosts once and they were very friendly and pleasing to work with. Everything in the home had obviously had care and thought put into making it feel welcoming. All around a 5 out of 5 star rating and we would definitely have this home in mind when returning. We were so impressed with the presentation on arrival and after our stay it was sad to leave such a beautiful home. I would recommend this bookabach to anyone looking for pleasant, handy and comfortable stay near Nelson.
