Liked: Cleanliness, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy
not suitable for seniors or those with balance issues. Deceptive description did not mention steep stairs, sloping floors or ancient uneven stones on approach to front doors. Clean but cheaply furnished. Bathroom the best room in the house, but with a toddler-sized toilet. However, great location!
Our stay at this beautiful Victorian-style home in Old Salem was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we felt as though we had stepped back in time — but with all the comforts of modern living. The attention to detail in the décor was impeccable, from the period furnishings and rich woodwork to the cozy nooks that were well stocked with books and comfortable furniture. The home was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed for a restful and memorable stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and every room was filled with charm and character. It was clear the owners put a lot of care into both preserving the historical beauty and ensuring a welcoming experience. One of the best parts was the location — nestled right in the heart of Old Salem. We mostly enjoyed morning walks to the nearby coffee shop, and sipping our coffee on the beautiful front rocking chair porch while watching daily traffic go by. It felt like we were living in a storybook.Whether you're a history buff, a lover of architecture, or just looking for a peaceful getaway with soul, this rental is an absolute gem. We left refreshed, inspired, and already planning our return!
The apartment location was perfect for a girl's trip to Old Salem and other historic properties in the Winston-Salem area. We were comfortable and enjoyed the historic charm of this property.
