Welcome to our renovated 1896 bungalow, we envisioned a place where visitors could cozy up, stay a while and experience city living amidst the peacefulness of park life. We believe that art is meant to be shared so we designed the home to feature colorful pieces that convey happiness. The house has been freshly renovated and decorated with a mix of modern and vintage pieces. The house is within walking distance of the 250+ acre Riverview Park so wildlife and trail adventures await!
Neighborhood description Explore the woods at nearby Riverview Park and discover many other city amenities that are close to the house. Created in 1894, the park predates the City of Allegheny’s annexation to the City of Pittsburgh in 1907. Formed largely from farmland, today’s Riverview Park is known for its dense woodlands and steep topography. The park’s extensive network of trails invites hikers, joggers, and the occasional horseback rider into the woods. The park is also home to the landmark Allegheny Observatory, a visitor’s center, a swimming pool and activities building, the natural beauty of the Mairdale watershed, and the popular two-mile Riverview Loop. Residents enjoy the park's pool, playground, ball field, shelters and summertime concerts and movies.
The home is in a residential neighborhood close to the local Carnegie library, several pizza/sub shops, and other unique eateries. The house is within driving distance of full-service grocery stores, drug stores, coffee shops, dry cleaners, gas stations, restaurants, bars, and other night life, however, all of these types of establishments are within one or two miles. Unique to the area is the local Bread Works for delicious artistry breads.
From the house you will be able to walk out the front door and down the street into the lower part of Riverview Park. There are an extensive choice of trails to choose from if you like to hike or mountain bike. The terrain is hilly with a wide variety of flora and fauna. The park is rich in wildlife so don't be surprised to see deer, possum, raccoons, turkeys, ground hogs and the occasional fox at night. The wildlife is very docile and are used to being around people. Please remember that although they are gentle, their personal space needs to be respected.
Getting around There is plenty of free street parking out front. You can walk, Uber or bus to just about any of the main attractions as this home is just minutes to Downtown, PNC Park, Heinz Field, AGH, North Shore dining and activities. It is within walking distance of the bus line. It is a 10-12 Uber ride to the strip district, south side or PPG Paints Arena. Easy access to I-279 and the parkway. It is about 20 minutes to the airport, depending on time of day/traffic.
The space The Space Essentials We take pride in offering a naturally clean, warm and welcoming space. There is a queen size bed in the master bedroom. The house is stocked with linens, towels and amenities in the kitchen and the bathroom to make your stay more convenient. There is a Black & Decker 4-in-1 coffee-maker, as well as microwave, pots, pans and other cooking items in the kitchen for guests to be able to cook their own food. There is free WiFi and TV with a Blu-Ray player, we keep a selection of DVD/BluRay discs on hand. The house is cleaned using only natural environmentally friendly products and we are passionate about recycling.

Guest access Self check-in Check yourself in with the smartlock.
Other things to note There are absolutely no parties of events allowed at the house. This policy is strictly enforced. Unfortunately there have been three incidents of people hosting parties at the house in violation of our policy that were extremely distressing. The last guest had well over 100 people and the neighbors called the police. It is a quiet family neighborhood and I do not want to be known as a nuisance house in the neighborhood. After the last incident, the neighbor’s have a zero tolerance for parties and will contact the police. If you are interested in having a few friends visit you at the house please notify me but for insurance reasons and out of respect for my neighbors I must enforce this rule. I appreciate your understanding.

Lisa is a great host anf the house is really nice. The big plus for us and why we picked this house is the big fenced in yard, our fur babies loved it. The location is great as well, close to all the fun stuff in Pittsburgh. We highly recommend Lisa and her rental!
Clean and comfortable. I stayed here a few days while in Pittsburgh for work. It was convenient & quiet, and a fairly short trip into downtown/Oakland.
We just had a brief stay in Pittsburgh and this house was ideal for us. It was cute, clean, and well equipped, but most importantly for us it had a perfect yard for our dogs. We will stay again when we come to Pittsburgh
This property is a hop, skip and a jump to many places. The house was cozy and pet friendly. It was a great spot to go back to after a day out! The property owner is very friendly!
Lisa’s house worked out well for us — got to do laundry, hang out comfortably, let dog into side yard to go potty, close to downtown for sightseeing, but provided a quiet place to sleep at night.
This charming gem of a home was a great place to spend the evening before giving a local presentation. Loved the art and antique furnishings. Lisa is a welcoming host and the neighborhood dogs and cats were a big bonus. cats and dogs a joy.
My boyfriend and I stayed over Christmas to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers play The Kansas City Cheifs, the house was very comfortable, the owner had decorations for us in the house which made our stay at Christmas away from our families very enjoyable

Why they chose this property
I have lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years and enjoy being so close to a 259-acre park. I like to say it is like living in the county but having the convenience of the city. It is a very quiet neighborhood, with ample wildlife and is only about a 7 minute drive from all the cities amenities. (Depending on time of day, route taken and traffic). It is close to the North Shore stadiums, restaurants, museums, and biking trails.
I love walking the park and exploring the trails. The 259-acre Riverview Park is known for its dense woodlands and steep topography. It is nestled between Perrysville Avenue, Woods Run, and Marshall Avenue, park is known for its wooded trails and dramatically steep hillsides. In the summer you can enjoy the park's swimming pool, playground, ball field, shelters, summertime concerts and movies.
An additional plus is the Pittsburgh Police horse stables. In the morning the exercise the horses, so you never know when you will hear a clop, clop, clopping of hooves coming down the street.
What makes this property unique
The house was built as a homestead, so it is truly a cozy home. I have decorated with original art and lots of pillows and blankets to create a space that feels like comfortable for guests. The back yard is spacious and perfect for relaxing.
