About this property

Stunning Mountain-Modern Cabin Close to Asheville w/Hot Tub

Spring has arrived - the Dogwoods are blooming, the trees are sprouting their leaves, and the wild turkeys are a-courting! Make plans now to visit the Western North Carolina mountains where there's so much to do! Come enjoy cool days, crisp evenings, long-range views, hiking, breweries, arts/crafts galleries, antique stores and much more! Aerie could be that perfect 'base camp' for your visit - a lodging option that offers awesome early spring views, privacy, the 'peace and quiet' of nature, wildlife sightings, and plenty of space to simply 'be'. Don't wait - go ahead and make those 'resolution' plans now! (4WD/AWD access only).

Aerie is a unique and wonderful place designed so that you can sit back, relax, enjoy some long range views, observe nature, and unplug from daily life for a while. There's a particular type of peace to be found here in the Blue Ridge Mountains - a sense of returning to 'our roots' - to be at one with nature - to be quiet and listen - to feel the harmony of things. Aerie is one of those special places that affords this luxury. Just 15-20 minutes from Asheville, Hendersonville, Biltmore House, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. This unique 'roosting' spot is surrounded by nature, featuring a stunning window wall, open LR/DR/Kit, 2 BR/2 BA, deck, hot tub, & fire pit area. NOTE-4WD/AWD (and a sense for adventure) is REQUIRED!

While perhaps not a 'cabin' in the traditional sense, we like to think of Aerie as a 'modern cabin' given its contemporary design, remote mountain location, and rustic decor. Situated near the end of a privately maintained, single lane gravel road (4WD or AWD REQUIRED), Aerie features an open living/dining area with a stunning window wall conveying the impression of being perched high in the tree canopies. Each of the 2 bedrooms has a king-size bed and private bathroom; and the living room sofa features queen-size pull-out sofa-bed. The full kitchen is complemented with everything you need: a large island with under-counter bar seating, range, oven, microwave, full refrigerator, dishwasher, ample cabinet space, dishware, cookware, glasses, utensils and more. 5" Hickory hardwood floors throughout embody a sense of oneness with nature. While the LR fireplace is not available for guest use, an assortment of candles are staged and can be used for ambiance. The main deck has both an open area and a covered porch. A 7-person hot tub is tucked beside the cabin and the firepit offers a perfect spot for evenings spent stargazing and enjoying some scrumptious 'smores (firewood/fire making materials are not provided). During your stay, you'll be serenated by a variety of songbirds, may see busy little squirrels and chipmunks, and be fortunate to see some of our local wild turkeys, deer, and black bear families. If you're really lucky, you may even see a reclusive bobcat. Should you choose to stick close to the cabin, Tinkling Springs Lane and Log Gap Road offer some local hiking options as well. So, don't wait - reserve a few nights at Aerie to relax and unwind, to get away from the hustle and bustle, to enjoy the calming effects of Mother Nature at her finest!

The place was great. Great location and above our expectations. Everything you need for a great getaway. All the touches and items needed for your stay. Host was helpful on questions about hiking and other areas. We were treated with a fresh baked loaf of banana bread. We will be back!

Beautiful cabin tucked into nature. The porch was wonderful and we wished we had more time to enjoy the hot tub! Good location to explore Asheville and its vicinity. Don’t ignore the advice to have an all wheel drive vehicle! The gravel road is steep in places, but the directions provided were easy to follow. I look forward to returning with my family!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this mountain house over New Year’s. The house was very clean when we arrived and it had everything we needed with lots of extra and thoughtful perks. There were plenty of kitchen supplies for cooking, a coffee bar, and even robes for everyone to use when visiting the hot tub. The owners even left us a fresh baked load of banana bread! The views are the best and it was amazing to watch the sun rise. The comments about needing four wheel drive are not exaggerated because the last part does get pretty steep but it was perfectly fine with our car. This house was definitely one of our favorites and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy retreat.

Modern Mountain Retreat

We had a wonderful stay at Aerie! The photos don't compare to how truly nice this place is in person. The cabin was cleaned and stocked with everything you could need, including coffee and tea. There are a few grocery stores just a short trip away to stock up on anything additional you may need. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and plan on booking another stay in the future

Beautiful View with Excellent Accommodations

We thoroughly enjoyed our time staying in Aerie and experiencing the sights throughout Asheville. The accommodations were clean, organized, and modern. The cabin had fantastic views and was very peaceful. We spent quite a bit of time outside on the deck or around the fire pit. We were lucky enough to see a momma bear and 3 cubs below the deck. We would definitely return to this property.

Girls getaway!

Beautiful place! But way to many bears for me! 7 different ones of different sizes came to visit. Every day we were there! Road was very challenging. But a wonderful place to visit to get away from it all. Thank you we loved your beautiful cabin!

Amazing “Cabin”

Everything in the cabin was beautiful. Owners are very detail oriented and we had all we needed. We saw bears and deer too. Be sure you come in an AWD or 4 wheel drive. It’s a very steep drive up the mountain. But worth the drive.

Modern Cabin outside Asheville

We had an incredible time and I would recommend this house to anyone. It was modern, private, had a fire pit and hot tub. It was a newer house with everything you needed. Kyle communicated very well and took very good care of us. We have told all of our friends and we will definitely be going back soon! Thank you again!

A True Mountain Retreat

We had an amazing time at Aerie! Everything was perfect and clean. When they say 4x4 is required, don't ignore it! The house is up a small, windy, steep road. We have rented a few mountain homes over the past few years, and this one was by far the nicest. There was absolutely nothing out of place! We will be staying here again during our next trip to Asheville!

Quiet and Secluded but not far away

I love the Fairview area, and this property was not too far from everything, and even the road (need 4wd) was not too bad to navigate. House was pretty much the last one and is new, and has pretty much what you need for a couple getaway its perfect (or for more, room for 4). The best highlight was seeing black bears coming around every morning and dusk foraging for berries. Mom and her cubs were super cute. Once you realize they aren't dangerous as long as you don't get close to them or scare them, you can simply talk loudly and they know to stay away from the house. Watching them from the deck or inside was really amazing.

Beyond perfection

This place was everything it said it would be and more. We stayed for two nights with another couple. Perfect layout for two couples. Aerie was clean, clean, clean. Beautiful views, beautiful rooms, beautiful furnishings. Nothing was overlooked, right down to make-up remover pads for the ladies, lovely robes for everyone, extra snuggle blankets, wood for the fire pit, even a little mason jar of chocolate. The fresh loaf of banana bread that was left for us was the icing on the cake. It's at the tip top of a narrow somewhat rocky road. Our host had warned us about this from the beginning and we had no trouble getting there. The juice was worth the squeeze. The only thing that went wrong was that we couldn't stay longer. We would definitely stay here again.

We were looking for a relaxing stay near Asvhille and Aerie checked all the boxes! This wonderful property is located in the middle of the forest, the views and sunsets were gorgeous! The decor of the property was perfect and everything was flawless. Kyle and his wife are amazing hosts and we can't wait to visit Aerie again in the near future.

Stop Scrolling and BOOK IT NOW!

I found this gem, while looking for a getaway to propose to my (then) girlfriend. I feel like I hit the jackpot! This spot exceeded every expectation! Immaculately clean, modern yet cozy, comfortable in every way! The owners thought of everything a guest could need, and were wonderfully communicative. If the Aerie is available, I will never stay anywhere else when visiting Asheville! ** AWD is not a friendly suggestion! You will need it!
