Historic charm meets modern convenience at this cozy home steps from the 200-year-old bridge and ski-in/out for nordic skiing. This fantastic, four-season destination offers beautiful views during the winter season, and you can enjoy multiple activities and attractions throughout the year. It's nine miles to the ski slopes of Sugarbush Resort, but with the VAST trail system directly out the back door, you can hop on your snowmobile and be on the trail almost instantly. When you return home, enjoy the freedom of this spacious setting. Boot and glove dryers will be waiting for you, and a ski and snowboard storage rack will be in the garage. Walk to the Mad River, swimming holes, and farm stands in the summer and enjoy the spectacular views of Camel's Hump and Mt. Ellen year-round. Waitsfield's shops, restaurants, and amenities are roughly two miles away. Help yourselves to blueberry bushes, red currant bushes, apple trees, and a fresh vegetable garden. A grilling grate with grilling tools including S'mores sticks offer additional enjoyment.

The home is on one bucolic acre and was built in 1801 for Waitsfield's first Minister, Reverend Salisbury. The original, hand-hewn beams run through the entirety of the home, and the present-day garage sits in the exact location of the original barn. There, you can enjoy a family gathering space with foosball and games - kites, yard size Connect 4, yard darts, and croquet. Inside the 1,100-square-foot home, you'll find hardwood floors throughout - the floorboards upstairs are authentic - and lots of natural light. There are doors on every sleeping space and the dining room for complete privacy. There's a full kitchen with a breakfast bar, sunny dining room that seats everyone comfortably with additional tables and seating, fully updated bathroom with ample storage and a vanity, and a cozy living area featuring plush couches, a smart TV, a gas stove for those chilly nights, and seasonally available air-conditioning units that keep the first floor cool and comfortable. Plus, all three bedrooms have a box fan beneath each bed for added comfort. There's whole-home high-speed internet with internet boosters which will give you full performance no matter where you are inside. There is plenty of bandwidth for streaming and video calls so you should be good for work/playInternet. The home includes a remote workspace with an electric sit-stand desk and a 34" ultrawide monitor for your use and a futon. Spend the evening gathered around the firepit, enjoying the spectacular 180-degree sunset, and showering off at the outdoor shower underneath the stars while listening to nature sounds including a nearby babbling brook. You couldn't ask for a sweeter stay - all that's left to do is book it.

What a Valley View!
This place was perfect for our annual girlfriends' ski getaway because it was 15 min. to Sugarbush! The home is as pictured except the valley view was even BETTER than imagined (and they added a futon to the first floor"office")! The beds were comfortable; all modern amenities including internet/streaming made this a relaxing stay. Thank you! This is a beautifully upkept 1801 home and still has some of those original specs and charm (see tips). Enjoy it! Thanks again for a wonderful stay in this winter wonderland! Tips for future renters: we had unseasonably warm weather for a February stay, which made for an early "mud" season. In mud, use caution when driving on the access road; no need for a 4WD car though. Remember to read the kitchen description carefully as there is no microwave. Anyone over 5'3" will need to remember to duck when ascending/descending the stairs.

Waitsfield VT Farm House
Over all ok, we were there to celebrate Thanksgiving with family who live locally so there to sleep. I will say the upstairs queen is very uncomfortable & having all but one pillow in the home, large & firm a problem. I usually travel with pillow but forgot this trip I did not sleep well.

Loved this cozy house with the owners touches. So picturesque with the covered bridge down the road and beautiful foliage for a college family weekend!
