New 5BR, 2BA Home - Next to the Appalachian Trail - Near Ski Liberty

Where the Mason-Dixon meets the mountains, The Main House @ Zero Day Stay is a quiet comfortable home. This 5 bedroom, 2 bath Main House is a clean, brand new home with a big common area for eating, chatting, and playing. Each bedroom also has direct access to the huge, new back deck. From May - July, Zero Day Stay is a full-service, Appalachian Trail hiker hostel. From August - April, it's a traditional home stay. We are located 1 block the AT in Pen Mar Park, MD. It's just a nice, clean, comfortable home. Enjoy.

There is a private studio apartment attached to the Main House, and it is also available for booking on this platform ('New Studio Apartment - Next to the Appalachian Trail').

Please know that two cats live here. During your stay, they'll be in the basement. Despite my best efforts to keep guest bedding separate from my own, a stray hair or two may appear.

Perfect for groups up to 12

I was really impressed by the cleanliness of the property and the owner/manager's attention to detail. The desk chair needs repair, but that's the only flaw. Two full bathrooms; only need a bit of coordination of usage times among larger groups. The personal care that has gone into this house really shows.

Hoody is a former middle school teacher, foster dad, grandpa, old-stuff collector and occasional traveling wanderer.

Why they chose this property

The home is in quiet, mature, Historic Pen Mar Park Village. In the late 1800's and early 1900's, the Pen Mar Express brought thousands of tourists on the scenic journey out to Pen Mar Park to ride rides, listen to music, and dance in the pavilion. The decline of train travel hastened its demise -- WWII finished it off.

What makes this property unique

For May, June, and July, Zero Day Stay is a full-service hiker hostel. It's located only 1 block from Pen Mar Park and the Appalachian Trail. From August - April, it's a quiet, comfortable home stay.
