A cute tucked away property, creating a private atmosphere. Well situated in Santa Barbara foothills yet close proximity to shopping, beaches, and hiking trails. Would book again.
Great property and everything as advertised! Initial musty smell went away after we had the windows open. Definitely made use of the beach chairs and umbrella at the beach.
The kids loved making fresh lemonade every day with lemons from the lemon tree just out back!
The property is definitely as advertised and the pictures are current/accurate. The check-in process was seamless and easy, and the amenities are plentiful. We had 3 still active adults over age 65, and this location and property were perfect for our three-night stay. Quiet and beautiful neighborhood, and a 3 to 4 mile drive from the heart of downtown Santa Barbara.
Would definitely stay here again!
This place and location worked great for what we needed. Being able to garage the car and have washer/dryer was great for our longer stay. Had to use my own Starlink because the wifi was very spotty and weak. There is no AC, so bring fans if staying in the summer months. Also need to know that you can't flush any toilet paper. Everything has to go in the trash. Very quiet neighborhood and very dark at night. Very pet friendly as well. We would definitely stay again, even with the plumbing/wifi issues.
There were quite a few bugs and spiders every day. I understand the house is in and around a wooded area but a bug spray company may help inside the house. House also smelled musty.
This was such a wonderful rental, and just perfect for a weekend getaway in Santa Barbara!
It is in a beautiful space in the hills!
The property is pet friendly and so we brought our two cats as well for only a small fee.
(FYI, this place would be great with dogs too. There is an enclosed fenced area in the back, that almost looks like a mini dog park).
It is only 10 minutes away from the beach, the Funk Zone, and downtown Santa Barbara. It also did not take long at all to get to the Zoo and the Botanical Gardens.
We did not take advantage of the grill in the back this trip, as it was a bit too cold, but would love to come back sometime late Spring/early Summer again.
Just loved the place and would definitely come back!
BE AWARE: At the bottom of the house rules (which I missed at booking) is a note saying that you can't flush ANYTHING down the toilet. It worked out that we pooped at restaurants, but my daughter was on her period and was not thrilled about it.
SECOND: We noticed the first night that there was no hot water. I contacted the property manager and he originally said he would call a plumber the next morning. We were in town for a wedding and I didn't want to chance not getting it fixed in time. Eventually, he told me where the water heater was, I went outside in the dark in my pajamas and found it was turned off. I was unable to start it, so he said he'd try to reach a handyman. Luckily they came out that night and we had hot water by morning. It's a good thing we didin't have to shower that first night.
THIRD: You are asked not to wear shoes in the house. This is fine with me. I chose not to bring slippers, instead walking barefoot on the tile floors (fine for summer). Unfortunately, my feet quickly got dirty. If you're going to have this rule, you should make sure the floors are cleaned well before each guest. (I could see mop/water marks on the floor but perhaps they just went through the motions.)
OK, so all that out of the way, I'll say that it was spacious and (mostly) clean. The beds were comfortable although the pillows were all "substantial."
Things that would be helpful: A nightlight of some sort in the bathroom (it's pitch dark), and labels on the light switches.
