Great place!

Perfect for a weekend trip with my partner. Location was pretty good, we scootered pretty much everywhere and most of our scooter trips were 5-10mins. The apartment was cozy and clean with a comfortable bed.

Honestly, I was really excited about this stay. I searched for places close to Ford Field in Comerica Park and this showed up. It is not walking distance and the pictures are deceiving when I got there. I realized I was in the middle of nowhere and at least a mile in a half to 2 miles from where I was going for the majority of my stay….. so either way you’re paying the same price if you pay more for a room downtown. When I walked in, it was very hot. We opened up the windows and I turned the air conditioning on and it instantly started smelling like mold. I was instantly greeted by fruit flies and defective things in the room, which included two lightbulbs and the door, basically broke within an hour of being there just from opening and closing. This is a studio apartment so you have no space which was not talked about in the description of the room. The road that this is on is literally a dirt road so drive slow. The Host was nice, but I do not think this property was worth what I paid per night…. Won’t return.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the stay didn’t meet your expectations. We do want to clarify a few points for future guests. Our listing accurately identifies the unit as a studio and provides its location and proximity to downtown Detroit. Ford Field and Comerica Park are approximately 1.5–2 miles away, so while we are very close to downtown, we do not advertise the property as being directly beside the stadiums. We were surprised to hear about a mold smell, as we get our AC units cleaned out and maintained regularly. This has never been an issue we’ve encountered by any other guests so hearing this comes as a big surprise! We also take concerns regarding fruit flies and maintenance seriously and will make sure those items are addressed. Cleanliness has always been our top priority - as well as safety for guests. We always encourage guests to review the location, unit type, photos and amenities before booking to ensure the property is the right fit for their stay. We appreciate the feedback and wish you the best on your future travels.

Convenience

The property was quite nice and the convenience was perfect. Close to Downtown and Michigan Avenue where we found coffee shops, restaurants and a distillery within a very short drive. It worked out very well for our quick trip to Detroit.

Host was very welcoming and ease of entry was a plus. Also host was very quick to respond. My only complaints were that there was no dryer, so we couldn’t do laundry,AND the parking is a nightmare. I pulled out of my spot and ran over a couple of inches of concrete and it was so horrible I actually screamed out loud and my rental car sounded different after that. It was impossible to find a parking spot that I didn’t nearly hit something or run over something. And as much as I loved the place. It was perfect. The anxiety of parking a car there is a no go. And if you want to call a Lyft be prepared to stand outside in front of the building because that’s where the address is and you will be in the back. So if it’s cold… and food delivery drops your stuff off on the front porch too so you have to put your shoes on and walk downstairs around to the front, and back up. If you have a little SUV and only need the basics, this is the place. It’s very cute and comfy.

Hi Stacy, Thanks for loving our studio! I just want to point out there there is a dryer. It’s a washer/dryer COMBO unit. I wished you would have messaged me and I would have told you how to use it!🙂 Also, if you order food on the app, you just need to put in the instructions that the unit is in the back of the building and they will hand deliver it right to your door. That includes a Lyft or uber as well! You just put it in the instructions and they will come right to you! As for parking, I’m sorry you had issues. We’ve actually never been told that the parking has been an issue or someone has damaged their vehicle! So we’ve never thought to check it out and fix any issues there may be. We actually live at the building and park there all the time. The concrete you’re probably referring to are the spot separators, to separate each spot. There is a designated spot for you, so you shouldn’t ever have an issue finding a spot. Hope this explains everything if you decide to stay with us again! Thanks!

This place was pretty great for 2 people for the weekend! Some areas were kind of dusty and some of it seems unfinished, but the important parts were clean! We had to keep switching between 3 different Wi-Fi’s which was a little annoying but not a dealbreaker. Location is awesome! We were there for an event downtown and it was an easy drive and this place is right next to a casino if that’s your thing! The host was really kind and made sure we needed for nothing. Would stay here again next year for the same event.

We purchased this property over a year ago and completely transformed it into an 8 unit apartment building. We put our heart and soul into renovating it and hope our guests love it as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

Corktown is a lively bustling area filled with amazing restaurants, cocktail bars, sports bars and shops. It's also super close to all the best things in the city - from Little Caesars arena, to the DIA, to Ford Field, to downtown Detroit, to the Riverfront and more!
Our place is about a 10 minute walk to Michigan street (the strip of Corktown).

What makes this property unique

It's completely renovated from head to toe! Everything is brand new with modern unique finishes, but still with some old charm, keeping the original exposed brick inside the units.
