This beautiful private cabin retreat close to the top of this mountain pass, just a few miles north of Homer, has spectacular views of the mountain ranges and valley from the front deck and even inside through the large kitchen and dining room windows! We really loved it!

We are delighted that you enjoyed our cabin and the beautiful view of the mountains across the bay. We hope you will visit us again sometime in the future.
The cabin was absolutely amazing. The views are spectacular. The host was extremely helpful and very accommodating. The photos of the cabin are accurate. We didn't see any moose but we saw evidence that at least one came through during the night. Such a cozy cabin, we never turned on the TV. We were about a 15minute drive from Homer, the drive was absolutely beautiful. We'd definitely stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Lenore Swanson
We moved to Alaska in 1998. We have never regretted it. We love living here. We are outdoor enthusiasts. We are both certified archery instructors, and Scuba certified. We hunt, fish, hike, canoe, paddleboard, ski, snow machine....anything that will get us outside. We love living close to Eveline where we can do many of those activities. Our 3 kids all live nearby. We originally built the cabin for our parents to spend time near us. Pete is an elementary school administrator and Lenore is a 2nd grade teacher.
Why they chose this property
Alpine Meadows Cabin looks across Kachemak Bay to several glaciers on the other side. It is a spectacular mountain and water view. Eveline Trail (hiking, snowshoeing, skiing) is literally across the road from the cabin. We love that it is out of the bustle of town and extremely quiet. On cold, dark, winter nights, the Northern Lights can be seen out the bedroom window. You are going to love this cabin!
What makes this property unique
Alpine Meadows Cabin is "Beyond the Last Frontier". It is easily accessible, yet wild. Access to Eveline State Park is across the road. The view is amazing. Mountains, the bay, and glaciers don't disappoint. Moose, bears, hares, lynx, owls, geese, and Sand-Hill Cranes have all been spotted on the property. It is a quick drive to town for eating out, fishing charters, and Homer Spit shops. Northern Lights are easy to see on cold, winter nights.
