Your hosts, Clinton and Theresa, are dedicated to making every stay special. They’ve added personal touches throughout the property to create a space that is both comfortable and memorable— extra outdoor seating, and a unique blend of dog-friendly amenities inspired by their own pups, Iris and Hazel, and recently rescued pup, Nico.

The Bailey Cozy, clean, and comfortable - we had such a wonderful stay at The Bailey! So many thoughtful touches at this beautiful home - from the fully stocked kitchen (including an iron skillet!), extra toiletries in the bathroom, and a functional washer and dryer - the hosts really put a lot of effort into making sure guests feel at home while away from home. The beds were super comfortable, the original hardwood floors added so much character, and the front and back decks were amazing spots to relax and unwind. In addition, local menus and recommendations for activities were thoughtfully provided. Perhaps best of all, our little dog was welcomed with a fluffy bed, treats, and a special spot on the couch. If the dog is happy, everyone is happy! Highly recommend this beautiful mountain getaway!

We're especially happy your pup enjoyed the bed, treats, and special spot on the couch. We believe dogs deserve a vacation too!
Thank you for choosing The Bailey. We hope to welcome you (and your four-legged family member) back to Hot Springs again soon. And thank you for helping support our mission—10% of every stay goes toward helping shelter animals find loving homes.
Loved this cute home! So human and pet friendly! Love that you can walk to town and still feel away from it all. Beautiful front and back porches add a very peaceful feel. Love all the special touches and welcome gifts. And our pup especially loved the fluffy dog bed just for her!

Leah, Thank you for your review and the picture of lovers leap. Please come back to stay with us again soon!
The Bailey was above and beyond the best experience we have had staying with our two dogs. The home was comfy and cozy for both humans and pets alike. The dogs especially loved the provided dog bed and welcome treats, and their humans appreciated the well stocked kitchen and many other helpful dog forward amenities that allowed the family to travel more lightly. We all really enjoyed sitting out on the gated back deck, and the short walk into town.
Kitchen well equipped with essentials and extra unexpected morning coffee and snacks. Dogs loved it, and the area is fantastic. Highly recommend.

Best pet friendly mountain rental
This is hands-down, the most friendly pet rental I’ve ever had. The owners have really thought of everything. There are dog beds, toys, bowls, and safe spaces to hang out on the porches. The house is within walking distance to downtown Hot Springs and has everything you need for a getaway. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable living room and comfy beds. I 100% recommend this rental and will be back.

Home away from home!!!
The Bailey is truly what they advertised when booking. One of the easiest vacation options to settle into and start having fun checking out the mountain trails or relaxing on your choice of the front porch or back porch of this beautiful mountain home. Both porches have beautiful mountain view’s, the back porch also overlooks a private back yard and the front overlooks the town of Hot Springs. The inside was spotless clean and the beds and couches were so comfortable. Our dog loved the dog friendly atmosphere and we loved the welcoming pictures of the home’s namesake Bailey. Especially the beautiful picture with her pearl necklace on. We will definitely be planning our next trip.

Benny, Catherine & Sailor,
Thank you for your kind words, excellent communication and the care you took enjoying our home. We would love to host you again sometime soon!
“The Bailey” home in downtown Hot Springs is the perfect home for those who love their canine family members and want to take them along on their family vacation! Not only are your family pups welcomed, but pups are a key theme of this rental, honoring their precious lab named “Bailey”.Guests will enjoy comfortable beds, all you would need in the kitchen, and relaxing front and rear decks (great places to hang out). Plus, it is a short 5 minute walk to town.We wanted to support the town of Hot Springs, as they recover from the devastating damage from Hurricane Helene (September 2024) and are so glad we could come to town to enjoy hiking adventures, as well as a gravel bike race.

Peaceful Dog Friendly Mountain Cottage with Heartfelt Hospitality
We absolutely loved our stay at this cozy cottage in Hot Springs, NC. Perched on a quiet hillside, it offered beautiful mountain views and the perfect mix of privacy and walkability to downtown. While there are some road sounds outdoors, they’re not heard inside the home and didn’t interfere with a great night’s sleep on the comfy mattresses. We spent most of our time on the spacious, covered outdoor areas—ideal for relaxing, enjoying the fire pit, and taking in the misty mountain mornings. The yard was great for our dogs, who were greeted with treats and toys upon arrival. Harper became obsessed with the Kong fox toy and carried it on all our adventures!Inside was spotless and thoughtfully stocked with wine, snacks, towels for muddy paws, and even photos of the hosts’ beloved pup, Bailey, who the home is named after. The hosts were responsive and truly welcoming.Hot Springs is still recovering from the devastating 2024 flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. While some businesses remain closed, the town’s heart shines through in every conversation. If you’re considering booking this cottage, do it. And if you’re wondering whether Hot Springs is worth a visit even during recovery—absolutely. In fact, there may be no better time to experience the spirit of this town. This was more than just a place to stay—it was an experience. One filled with mountain mist, cozy fires, tail wags, kindness, and quiet moments that reminded us to slow down and savor the simple joys.

About the host
Your host
We are so happy to be your hosts, Clinton and Theresa. We bought the Bailey as a vacation home / rental to celebrate the life of our best dog Bailey. We made it dog friendly in her honor. She would welcome you with open paws! We ourselves frequent The Bailey with our current dog loves, Iris and Hazel, and Nico. We try to improve The Bailey with every stay. We recently added a misting fan to make the back porch more enjoyable on hot summer days. The back yard offers a great place to play, grill and chill. There are 2 cozy benches in the guest locker available for your use . Take the hammock out back or on either deck and read a book and relax. We feel confident that you will enjoy your stay as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
Most guests choose The Bailey because they can park once and walk everywhere. The Appalachian Trail, French Broad River, restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and the mineral baths are all just minutes away.
You’re in the heart of Hot Springs — but tucked on a quiet residential street with mountain views and peaceful porches.
Inside, you’ll find fast Wi-Fi, comfortable beds, and a clean, thoughtfully stocked home. Outside, you’ll find covered porches, hammock seating, and space to unwind after a day on the trails or river.
And because we travel with our own dogs, The Bailey is genuinely dog-friendly — dog covers, towels, bowls, treats, and a pet bed(s)
What makes this property unique
The Bailey offers something most Hot Springs rentals don’t: true walkability, mountain views, and no pet fees — all in one place.
You can walk to the Appalachian Trail, the river, the mineral baths, coffee shops, restaurants, and breweries, then come back to a quiet street with covered porches and long valley views.
Inside you'll find local maps, menus, curated trail guides, and a personal guestbook from Clinton and Theresa — everything you need to explore Hot Springs like someone who actually lives here. Memory foam beds, seasonal Eddie Bauer linens, and Woolrich quilts mean you'll actually recover in comfort from those trail miles..
