Amazing little gem of a cabin along the French Broad! Completely private setting but just a short drive from town. Stayed there with my 3 boys and was more then enough room for all of us. The kids loved it!Melanie was such a gracious host and gave us all kinds of activitiy ideas for us to do while we were there. She even left tubes for us to use. The kitchen was awesome and completely stocked with everything you would ever need. Super cozy cabin, beautiful wooded setting and right by the French broad river! Will definitely visit again!
A beautiful and quaint cabin in the NC mountains. Very private and peaceful. Great for basing day trips along the Blue Ridge Pkwy. The (well-equipped) kitchen, eating area, and den are on the main level. A covered deck with rocking chairs are off the den. The porch continues (uncovered) around the side off the kitchen. All the light switches and cabinets are labeled so there is never any confusion as to what each is for! (Note: There is not a fireplace though.)The primary bedroom is upstairs, with a full bath and small sitting and desk area. The upstairs bath has a very nice stand alone shower. The terrace level has two twin beds, a full bath w/ tub/shower combo, laundry room with full size washer & dryer, plus a sitting area with a sofa and games for children.Outside, the cabin sits beautifully up a long and fairly steep driveway, with a locking swing gate at the entrance. Up the drive, outside the cabin there is a large grassed area, great for kids or dogs. There is also a fire pit for campfires and making s’mores. You can see the river glistening below through the trees! The cabin sits privately 5.6 miles down a road that runs right along the French Broad River, the last half being a well maintained dirt/gravel road. This makes the location very beautiful and quiet. It does also make it isolated - it is a 6 mile drive to the restaurants in Hot Springs. The host is very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would highly recommend this cabin!
Lovely cabin in the forest. Very cozy, clean and private. There's a gate at the driveway, so you don't have to worry about other people driving up. It was a little stuffy upstairs, but there's a semi-portable AC in the bathroom and several small fans, which eventually cooled it off. One thing I really appreciated about this property is that you don't have to clean the place before you leave (which makes sense, since you've paid a cleaning fee) - we didn't leave a mess, but I've stayed at other properties in the past where we had to wash the linens and the dishes and take out the trash at the end of our stay. I would definitely book this cabin again!
We love visiting Hot Springs and we were excited to stay at this absolutely adorable house. The decor is rustic, but not antiquated. The property is beautiful and was perfect for what we were looking for. We got to explore the Paint Creek valley trails (hiking and mountain biking) and take a dip in the creek after! Melanie was so helpful and accommodating, and even left us the sweetest note wishing us a happy anniversary. Melanie, thank you so much for adding to an already magical weekend!
