If you want to explore downtown Petaluma and the surrounding areas then my home is the perfect location. Petaluma is considered the gateway to the wine country and is a half hour to Point Reyes and the ocean. My home is walking distance to the beautiful historic downtown. No transportation needed, all restaurants, bars, grocery stores, shops, theaters all within a few short blocks.

We had a very comfortable stay of several days at this property. The large kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could want. The bedroom and living room are quite roomy. Great location just a few minutes from Petaluma Market and the Bagel Mill. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed this lovely home during our stay in Petaluma. It was comfortable, convenient, quiet and very clean. We especially enjoyed the kitchen and the outdoor seating. It was an easy stroll from the Petaluma Market and all the restaurants and shops downtown.
This is a lovely cottage that is very close to downtown Petaluma. We enjoyed walking to town a couple of different times. The cottage is clean and beautiful and very charming.
This is a warm, comfortable, welcoming abode. We have stayed at quite a number of VRBOs, but this was by far our favorite. From the cottage-y feel, to the eclectic and interesting decor (my favorite was the penguin amongst the ducks) to the easy communication with the owner and the cleanliness and comfort of the furnishings to the proximity of "downtown Petaluma" and all else Sonoma county has to offer, we recommend this spot!
Positives: Loved the house and was already familiar with the neighborhood. Fiona was friendly and easy to get ahold of, talk to, and get help from. This place worked very well for our trip. We wanted to be near our favorite Petaluma restaurants and we enjoyed being able to walk to them. We were also close to all the activities we wanted to pursue.
Not negative but less positive: Even though there is a high backyard fence that blocks the view in, I personally would prefer to be able to cover the back kitchen windows at night. Also, would have preferred to have off-street parking, although parking on-street was not difficult.
Misrepresented listing, not a stand alone cottage - owner lives upstairs
I didn't end up staying and left immediately after entering. This "cottage" is listed as an entire home. It is an aparment, not a stand alone cottage. The host/owner shares the front door and lives in an upstairs unit. In addition the back patio was not clean or set up to actually use. (note: it had not rained in many days). Also note, the neighborhood is not as it appears in the map. It's on a busy street. I'm in the process of dealing with VRBO for a full refund. Had I known the status, I would have booked somewhere else.
Lovely homey and comfortable. Just perfect for two. This was our 3rd or 4th time here. You can walk downtown, visiting the shops and restaurants or stop at Petaluma Market and pick up everything you need to cook a meal in the great kitchen. We will keep coming back as long as Fiona keeps renting.
