Stayed here for a guys weekend. It was perfect. Location was near the heart of Estes Park. Views were outstanding. Property was well kept and allowed for a very relaxing weekend. Highly recommend staying here for friends weekend or couples trip.
Our daughter got married in Estes Park last weekend. It was an amazing wedding! This house was the perfect size for our family. We spent a lot of time on the deck and were in the hot tub every day! The kitchen is large and we had a couple of our daughter’s friends over for dinner and it had plenty of space. The location is perfect for proximity to the Stanley, downtown Estes, and several entrances to Rocky Mountain National Park. We booked this location as soon as we knew we were having the wedding there and were not disappointed. The property contact was very prompt in responding to any questions. We will absolutely stay here again. It was a perfect centralized spot for our wedding events.
The location of this spacious home cannot be beat! It is just minutes away from downtown Estes Park and the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. While dated, the house is large and comfortable and well stocked with kitchen necessities, towels, etc. The icing on the cake was spending evenings watching the sunset over the mountains from the hot tub and watching rabbits and turkeys cross the yard.
We planned this trip to celebrate many life events, a graduation, a military homecoming, and just life itself. The property did not disappoint. I don’t believe the pictures do the place justice. The home was very clean. The kitchen was one of my dreams, well stocked and all appliances in working order. The beds were very comfortable and fitting for the ambiance of the house. The hot tub was so inviting and had amazing views of the mountains. On our third night there we had elk come right in the driveway and just hangout! It was amazing to watch the moms and babies from the safety of an elevated deck! Two of the bathrooms are outdated but I don’t care about that! They function and that is all that mattered. There were a couple times we had to contact the host and the replies were prompt. I highly recommend this property.
This home was perfect for our family of 7. The location was close to everything in estes park. It was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with items to use. The deck is spacious and great view of Longs peak! The hot tub was perfect! We saw plenty of wildlife in the yard to satisfy the hunters in my family. I highly recommend this property! We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back.
Nice location. House and property overall could use some TLC. Some dated amenities. No central AC or ceiling fans, box fans available. Back deck had some broken patio chairs.
The property provided exactly what we needed. We had 3 adult couples. We had a quick drive to the park, grocery store and downtown. Secluded and very relaxing property after a long day of hiking. The upgraded kitchen was very nice and we used it a lot. Overall it was just what our family needed. The property could use a little TLC. Could use a few new pillows and lighter blankets for sleeping. I definitely would stay here again.
The views of the property was amazing. It is a ranch style with four bedrooms. The kitchen and deck were my favorite part of the house. The kitchen is very well stocked. I would love to visit in the summer as the deck is amazing. Used the hot tub in the evenings. Had a full moon one night! Being an ke to park our truck in the garage at night was wonderful Over all I think this is a really nice VRBO.

It’s alright
Bedroom near hot tub side had broken bed and had stains on comforter, no propane for grill, trash cans were already full so there was no where to put trash and there were beer cans in the yard and under the deck.
This property is very close to Estes Park. It's in a quiet neighborhood (even over the Fourth of July) with wildlife nearby. The deck is fantastic with an amazing view. The layout of the bedrooms was perfect for grandparents at one end and parents/children at the other end. Two of the bathrooms need updating, though, and the sliding glass door was off its track when we arrived. One of our party was able to fix it. The bear-proof garbage can was a problem but we did manage to get it open. All the cupboards were full so finding space for our groceries was challenging. Communication with the owner needs to be by phone, not email. Overall, a good vacation spot.
Lab confirmed black mold. Story is too long to tell but this guy will say anything and even tried to black mail us. He put the health of our whole family at risk- especially our 4 year old son, who he knew had a mold allergy. Been a month fight to get some of our money back and stayed less then 24 hours and had been promised a full refund. Really sad he has let such an amazing home be infested with MOLD. Family Getaway
The property was easy to find. Entry into the house was easy. We were pleasantly surprised by all of the amenities provided in the kitchen. We cooked several meals & appreciated the tools, spices & cookware provided. We enjoyed sitting & eating on the deck & watching deer & elk from a safe place.
Cons - it was really hot in the master bedroom. No AC & no ceiling fan just a box fan. Other three bedrooms were hot as well & used box fans in these room. There is a mini split unit in the dining area that kept the kitchen & family room cool.
House needs a deep cleaning. Very dusty and stuff under the beds other renters left.
Overall not a bad place to stay it served our purpose. Just needs some TLC!

Estes was beautiful. Stay was odd.
The place was clean. The pictures seem to focus on the renovated rooms - 2 of the rooms and 1 of the bathrooms are renovated, the other 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms did not seem to be renovated. The master bedroom does not include an attached bathroom. The night we arrived it was extremely cold and the heat had not been turned on and it took several hours for the house to be comfortable enough for us to remove our coats. We purposely chose this place because of the hot tub but were never able to get it above 95 degrees. Seems to be lacking certain kitchen basics like a pasta strainer. My children found a case for a sex toy on the floor in the master bedroom closet and we were visited by a private detective looking the for the owner which concerned us.
Waking up to the elk herd right in the backyard was awesome. The property was very quiet and had fantastic views off the back porch. We've already discussed renting there again next year!
We loved the hot tub and its fantastic views. We had elk in the backyard every day. The beds and all furnishings were comfortable, the neighborhood was quiet with easy access to town. The kitchen was very well equipped, even with spices and basics. Fancy refrigerator. Great deck and grill. One minor fault was the wifi code was incorrectly noted in the folder and it was hard to get in touch with anyone.
Family vacation with adult children. Had 7 total and were able to accommodate all comfortably! The kitchen and main living area was our stomping ground with cards, cooking and visiting. The deck had a beautiful view and the hot tub was a nighttime favorite with the starry skies. Had a group of turkeys grazing in the morning as well as a male elk and a mate in the back of the yard under the tree. Don was quick to respond and even offered restaurant recommendations in town! A vacation to remember!
This is a great property, we really enjoyed the deck! The house is very open and comfortable as we had 7 adults and never felt crowded. We utilized both the kitchen and the grill on the deck and it is a great space for preparing and cooking meals. Dining room table and patio table great for eating and playing games. We had wildlife off the deck almost everyday. We had a great time and Don is a very thoughtful host in making sure we were taken care of. Definitely recommend this property!
The property was great. The house has amazing views of the Rocky Mountains. Overall, the house was great somethings were a little outdated but really didn't make a difference in our stay. There is no ac in the whole house, but they do have box fans in all the rooms, so it didn't get to warm. I think the only thing i would say is the master windows do not have window coverings covering the whole windows, lots of the light in the morning. The house is close to town so that was really nice. We saw lots of elk in the yard which was amazing. Overall, we would highly recommended the property.
We were looking for a house close to RMNP that was big enough for our family, that also had a hot tub. This spot checked all those boxes and also had an amazing view of the mountains out the back. 4bd/3bath were perfect. We had deer and elk hanging out in the backyard. It’s 1-2 minutes from DT Estes Park and 5ish minutes to the park. After a day of hiking the hot tub was amazing. The WiFi was good enough to hold zoom meetings. Only negatives were minor. 2 bathrooms were old, with low counter and toilet. Which probably not a big deal for most people. There was a woodpecker going wild on one side of the house. But overall this house had what we needed and we really enjoyed ourselves.

About the host
Hosted by Don Hess
We were currently living in the house and have since moved to Colorado Springs, CO. I grew up on a farm in South Dakota and my wife is from northern England.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because it is so quiet. The last thing you want when you are on a vacation is noise where you are staying. It is secluded which makes it very nice. The other reason why we purchased the property is because of the views. And you cannot beat the walk to downtown. It takes about 10 minutes.
What makes this property unique
It is so peaceful sitting in the hot tub at night watching the stars. It is like you can reach out and grab the stars. There are no street lights which makes it even nicer. And for ambiance the hot tub has music and led lighting.
