Private Rooftop Deck & Apartment with water views. Close to the train to Salem!
Close to downtown but set back on a quiet dead end street, The Admiral's Loft sits high in the treetops with keyhole views of the bay from a private deck. The apartment has been fully renovated this year. Marble countertops, tiled shower, hardwood floors, leather couch, antique and hardwood furniture and stainless steel handrail on the deck make this a luxurious feeling space. A/C and heat throughout with the touch of a button. Quality bedding including Allerease mattress and pillow cases, 800 thread count cotton sheets, quilt, down comforter and various size pillows should suit all your snuggle needs. We've built a cook's kitchen with marble countertops, quality knives, cutlery, airfryer oven, dishwasher, stainless steel pans, lobster crackers and a large lobster pot to name a few of the items. On the deck there is a 12 foot long couch that two people can lay out on, a dining space for 4, a high end electric grill and a cooler. Umbrellas provide some shade in the afternoon.

Excellent all around - great host, location and accommodations! Loved the private deck and it was easy to walk to anywhere in town. This is our second trip to Rockport and the area is truly beautiful - we'll be back!

This property is about as good as it gets for staying in a beautiful seaside town and enjoying the ultimate amenities that they provide with a great deal of personal consideration. I highly recommend this place if you’re going to Rockport Mass!
Great location within walking distance of shopping and restaurants! Followed the suggestions the host left for a driving tour of Cape Ann, and it was amazing! We saw so many great views that we would have never found on our own. Highly recommend staying here!!!
Great property! Perfect space for a stay close to the town of Rockport. Immaculate/clean and has everything you need. Owners were very communicative. Would definitely return here!

Thanks so much for the kind review. I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Even lovelier than the photos! Couldn't have been nicer. View was magnificent. Bed was super comfortable. Easy walk to town, to the Headlands, to Bearskin Neck. And short drive to all things Gloucester. We will definitely return. Thank you Stacey and Jannik.
This vrbo was top notch! The owners were super helpful and informative. The rental unit was perfect was perfect for an individual or couple. Even though it was an apartment, the outside deck lounging really provided a lot of space to make it seem much larger. The sky views were great. The proximity to downtown was easy and made exploring easy.Definitely would rent again if in the area!
The owners have done a beautiful job with the renovations. We loved the backpack chairs to walk down to the beach with! The information binder was full of tips and useful information about the area. The outdoor deck area was so inviting and relaxing! We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend!
I booked a recent stay for two nights in August at this location and it was absolutely perfect for a quiet weekend getaway. It’s within walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants, the theater, and beaches. The property itself is lovely with beautifully maintained gardens and great views. The hosts, Stacey and her husband, were so warm and friendly and truly made me feel at home. The apartment is immaculate with any amenity you might need and a great deck for relaxing and having morning coffee. I am very much looking forward to my next stay here!
The property is spotlessly clean, very comfortable, short walk to shops and restaurants, better equipped than I’ve experienced in the past, quiet and the host was very hospitable and welcoming and kind. Highly recommend!
Thank you Stacy for a wonderful week. As you know I loved your place. The beautiful colors the lovely artwork, everything was perfect, you had just what we needed. The 1 bedroom was spotless. The location perfect. We really enjoyed meeting you, thank you again

Thanks Arlene!
We loved meeting you and Bill. I hope the rest of your trip was great. Thanks for leaving the apartment so clean for me!
Hope we see you again.

This property was an 11 out of a possible 10. We've stayed in the area many times over the years, and this was the best. Nice off street parking, walk to breakfast and the harbor in minutes. Everything in the apartment appears new, like we were the first visitors. My wife is definitely looking for a clean location, and this was it. The owner seems to have thought of everything, so we never had to bother anyone with questions. Gloucester is a quick 10 minutes down the road to additional world class restaurants, whale watch trips, etc. We would highly recommend this property.

Exceptional! I cannot say enough good about this charming VRBO. My husband and I have stayed at numerous lovely VRBO’s, but this one has been among the best. The accommodations were exceptional, everything we needed and more was provided in this beautiful home- comfortable bed and living room area, well stocked kitchen, luxurious bathroom, and even some small grocery items to help so we didn’t need to run to the grocery. Stacey was extremely helpful and responsive with any questions or concerns we had. She provided a wonderful binder describing the area, restaurants, parks, beaches and attractions to visit! We absolutely loved our stay and would come back in a heartbeat.

About the host
Hosted by Jannik Jelmberg
My husband and I are from Rockport and Gloucester respectively. We've decided to open up our home now that our kids are grown. We just finished a big remodel and can offer this gorgeous apartment for travelers to enjoy. We have been lucky enough to travel a lot and we know what can make or break a rental. We hope to have achieved a superior rental experience for your trip with The Admiral's Loft.
Jannik and I love to be out on the water in our little aluminum skiff, headed to the beach or recreationally lobstering. We sail, surf, kayak and snorkel. We also love to road and mountain bike, rock climb, hike, camp, play tennis and pickleball and chill on the beach. All these activities are available here on Cape Ann. Sometime just minutes from the house. We are so lucky. We also love live music, dancing and a good cocktail which Cape Ann has lot of. I've worked as a kayaking and hiking guide as well as a bartender and waitress for longer that I'd like to admit. I like meeting new people and sharing our gorgeous island. We also appreciate that some people are not really into meeting their host and we will give all the space and privacy possible to all our guests. Only if you message and approach us will we reach out so it doesn't get awkward!
Why they chose this property
My husband's grandparents bought this home nearly 80 years ago. So, we did not choose this neighborhood, we lucked out. We're on a very quiet dead end street with 8 houses so there is no road traffic noise but we are still less than a half mile from town. Shops, restaurants, cafe's, scenic vistas, beaches and hiking trails are all just a 10 minute walk from the house. Being close to the ocean we get glorious cool breezes and bright night stars right from the deck. Our neighborhood is safe with just enough nosy neighbors to keep unofficial neighborhood watch and the local police department 5 min drive away. In a time when the world feels a little crazy, we are tucked away in a little oasis.
What makes this property unique
The private deck that comes with The Admiral's Loft is so amazing. The deck is 10 feet by 20 feet long. It is very private, facing out over a hill above our neighbor's roofs. A giant, 12 foot long sectional couch lets two people lay out end to end or move some parts around and make a full double bed. A teak dining table with 4 swivel captain's chairs provides comfy dining and a high end Coyote electric grill, food prep stand and cooler make for an enjoyable cookout in the treetops. In the summer you get glimpses of the bay between the walnut and oak trees. Starting in September as the leaves start to drop the view opens up and runs along the entire deck. We also have lots of off street parking, beach toys to use including chairs, umbrellas, coolers. We also have a double sit on top kayak, a single composite kayak, an inflatable SUP and road bikes available.
