About this property
Creekside vibes - 1 bedroom cozy cabin w/ outdoor fire pit + pet friendly!
Just reopened after our winter hiatus and spring is waking up the creek.
Escape to a cozy creekside cabin made for those who need a peaceful reset. As the spring thaw rolls in, the water is flowing, the air is crisp, and the woods are coming back to life.
Start your mornings with coffee on the covered deck, spend the afternoon listening to the creek and wind down with a fire under the stars.
If you’re craving a Virginia mountain escape with peaceful surroundings - this is your place.
Inside, you’ll find a warm, inviting space stocked with essentials - spin a record, stream your favorite shows with fast Starlink WiFi, or unplug completely and just enjoy the quiet.
Pet-friendly and just ~15 minutes off I-77, it feels tucked away without being hard to reach.
- Outdoor fire pit area with string lights - perfect for cozy evenings
- Creekside seating and outdoor dining space
- Cozy queen bedroom with hotel-quality linens & blackout shades
- Roku TVs + fast Starlink WiFi
- Covered deck with gate (great for pups!)
- Pet-friendly cabin (up to 2 dogs)
- Large meadow for stargazing or exploring
- Kitchenette with mini fridge/small freezer, Keurig, microwave, induction burner, air fryer, crock pot, toaster, cookware & utensils
- Grill space along the creek
Nested in the VA mountains, just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, this hideaway allows for a peaceful retreat or the perfect spot to settle in after a day of exploring. You're approx ~15 minutes from the picturesque Mabry Mill, quaint town of Meadows of Dan, and hiking spots such as the scenic Devil's Den Nature Preserve. ~20 minutes to downtown Hillsville for restaurants and groceries. ~25 minutes from local wineries.
SUPPLIES:
We provide basic cleaning supplies and dish soap, as well as a starter kit of paper towels and toilet paper. Bed linens and towels are also provided, along with the amenitites you'd expect such as hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. For longer stays, you may want to bring a few extra towels and toiletries. We stock a starter kit of k-cups, creamer and sugar along with basic cooking oils and spices.
If you wish to use the firepit or charcoal grill please bring along firewood and charcoal, starter, etc.
- There is another cabin on the property just beyond this cabin about ~40 feet away. This is a separate space but you may see other vehicles coming or going past the cabin in the shared driveway. The spaces are separated with a large pine tree and a carport between them. Refer to photos for the layout of the property.
- The cabin is small and with that, has a small water heater. It's rated to last for 1-2 standard showers. If you take a long hot shower, you may run out of hot water and need to wait for it to heat back up (~1 hr) so plan accordingly to space out showers if you have multiple people showering and conserve hot water (ex: wait to wash dishes until after showering).
- *** BURN RESTRICTIONS*** Please note that from February 15 - April 30th, the Virginia Department of Forestry restricts burning until after 4pm, which includes open-air fire (no use of the fire pit and charcoal grill during restricted times). Burning is allowed between 4:00pm and midnight so long as the burner takes precautions and attends to the fire at all times.
- The creek is usually shallow unless we have a lot of rain and is best enjoyed from the decks or in the meadow/at the fire pit. Enter at your own risk and use caution as the banks can be steep.
- The cabin has no central air conditioning or heating. There is a window AC unit installed in warmer months. It is warmed with a propane heater in cooler months and an electric heater in the bedroom. The space is only about ~400 sq feet but may be chilly or warm upon arrival depending on the weather. Turn on the heaters or AC in the bedroom to quickly warm or cool the space.
- The driveway is gravel and runs along the hillside to get to the cabin. If you're used to rural roads you may think nothing of it, but if it's your first time on the driveway, you may want to arrive in daylight to acclimate. It's not very long but it does slope at an incline to get down to the cabin from the main road. There is only parking for one vehicle and the parking space is just slightly larger than your average parking lot spot.
