Great stay! House was super clean and well-equipped. Yard for dogs was very well maintained and convenient. The neighborhood was quiet during our stay, and very close to downtown Wilmington. Had great local shops and restaurants. Took dogs on walks every morning to a local playground. Wi-Fi was strong. Shower had good water pressure and beds were comfortable. Would recommend staying here!

A nice cottage! We liked the decor and the coffee bar. Seemed to be geared more towards pets than children. Close to downtown/ historic Wilmington and the beach.

Cutest house ever

We felt suuuuper cozy and safe in this house. It was super clean and the host was very responsive and kind. I would live there if I could!! The location is awesome, very close to downtown and a lot of cool spots. We had a lot of fun exploring Wilmington, and the house was such a pleasure to come back to after a long day of exploring. Would rent again!! :)

Beautiful Cozy Home

I’ve spent a week in this beautiful cozy home not too far from the beach. Great price, spacious and cozy home. Great customer service. Loved it!!! I’ll recommend for sure! My first time in Wilmington celebrating my birthday with my daughter we built such beautiful and lasting memories.

Our stay was nice although on our first night while cooking dinner we found the cabinets to be very dirty and the pots and pans had not been cleaned. A small roach crawled out of the sink in the kitchen while doing dishes. We then saw the roach motel in the pantry. On our final night we were trying to take a shower and a cockroach came crawling out of the tub. We decided to then head out early around 1 am due to the cleanliness and bugs as we were uncomfortable and ready to leave.

I was down meeting my first grandson. The cottage is nice, love the back yard. Neighbor hood is iffy, very close to other houses, very tight. But no problem. The baseboards, walls, shower, window and blinds were filthy. Dusty with dog drool in window.beds comfy,shower needs a scrubbing, 2 fans don't work. Great space for entertaining, cute place

The inside was very clean and nice and friendly. The coffee bar was a nice touch. Glad it was a pet friendly property. our little dog seemed to enjoy her stay.The area at first seemed sketchy but no problems.Items to note- The water pressure at the shower head was very low, The remote for the TV in the bedroom was missing. We like to sit out on the porch, but the porch is in need of the steps and railings repaired/replaced and painted. Don't misunderstand, we DID like our stay there, just needs some maintenance.

Cute and convenient with responsive host

Communication was awesome prior to the visit which we needed to work out some potential timing issues with the Wilmington marathon. The house was clean and well furnished. Very cute and comfortable rooms. Having a dog friendly property with a fully fenced and safe yard was a huge bonus. Was able to feed my runner a fabulous meal and enjoy time with family without worrying about driving and parking the day of the race. Five stars across the board!

We loved our stay at Tilly’s cottage! We brought our two large greyhounds with us for a fun weekend in Wilmington. The house was nice and clean. The coffee bar is a nice bonus. Bed was comfy. There was a nice dog bed and food/water bowls that would have been great for smaller dogs (ours were a bit too big for them) Having a fully (and securely) fenced back yard was wonderful. We could let our boys outside for pee breaks without having to worry about leashes. The location of the house was close to tons of restaurants, breweries, shops, even a great museum! The property owners even left a helpful guide to ones they recommend. The beach was only about 20 minutes away. Wilmington was very dog friendly too, we were able to find some great, pet friendly restaurants and breweries they could go to with us. Definitely recommend Tilly’s cottage to anyone traveling with OR without pets!

The Comforts of Home!

Staying at Tilly's Cottage was an enjoyable experience, from the well provided kitchen with herbs and spices to the wonderful coffee bar (you have to try the Kona blend!). The large TV in the living room was ideal for watching a family movie from the comfortable couch. I had never slept on a memory foam mattress before and at first thought "this is too firm". However, after snuggling in, I slept like a rock the first night and every night after. May have to get one for home.The reservation process, self-check-in and checkout all went smoothly. The hosts were very responsive to inquiries.Also, if you have a dog, there is a nice setup with food/water bowls and toys, and a fully fenced back yard. I wish I could have brought mine on the trip, but he doesn't like flying.

We were completely deceived!The main complaint about the house Is that the steps on the front of the house were not safe for me, with my limited physical abilities. Then the interior of the house is nothing like the photos.The house is dirty and the couch is stained.The only other place to sit was a wicker chair with no cushions.House overall was not clean.Lastly When we tried to explain to the owner that this property was not suitable for our needs, he was not interested in hearing it, and refused to refund our money. He said it was our problem.We also asked about crediting money for another time in another location. He was not open to compromise, but instead resorted to name calling. He made several condescending remarks and made fun of me and called me dumb. He said that we were trying to take advantage of him, but actually it’s the complete opposite. We were the ones that ended up with no place to stay and lost the money that we had invested. We have filed a complaint with VRBO, and have forwarded them all of this information. We are waiting to hear back from them at this time.
