Dove cottage was a lovely cosy cottage situated just right for the Connemara Nature Reserve! The hosts were very helpful and knowledgeable and recommended us some lovely trips which were the hightlights of our stay!
We'd like to sincerely thank David and Miriam for their warmth and hospitality during our stay in their lovely cozy cottage. The welcome basket of food was very much appreciated after a very long day of travel. A special thanks goes to David for his invitation to take us on his boat to Ashford Castle which was truly a memorable experience! We send all our best to this very lovely couple!
We had an amazing experience at Dove cottage. We got great recommendations for things to do around the area. Dave actually recommended the kylemore abbey which was one of my favorite spots! The house was well stocked with supplies if you were to eat a meal at the house and a delicious loaf and butter for snacking. The bed was comfortable and house was spacious. I would definitely come back here again! Also plenty of parking
A very relaxing enjoyable stay. Our hosts, David and Miriam, were really brilliant, extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The location was very quiet in a beautiful location.
Dove Cottage is a cute little cottage located in beautiful gardens. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The owners were very helpful. It is in a good location to explore Connemara and beyond.
Beautifiul area. V “cosy” cottage. Not a great range of eateries nearby apart frio Powers Thatch which was wonderful. Foid. Music. Ambience. But it was worth druving 30 mins towards the mountains. Lovely.
A lovely cottage, both me and my wife had a lovely week touring the area. David was very welcoming, also recommending restaurants to eat out. I would recommend a visit.

Dove Cottage is a lovely, serene place to stay, convenient to Galway, Conemara and day trips on the Wild Atlantic Way. Town of Oughterard is close by with great pubs and restaurants.
The cottage is a blend of traditional Irish country, very cozy and perfect size for two.

David and Miriam are wonderful, kind people. The cottage was clean, well stocked and on a very beautiful property. David helped us with our itinerary, including suggesting a ferry which ended up being the highlight of our trip. Could not recommend enough.
David and Miriam were great hosts. The cottage is well appointed and very comfortable. The location allowed us to visit many sites with ease. Oughterard is a wonderful village with all the necessities fuel, butcher, grocery stores and pubs. We especially enjoyed several evening dinners at Powers Pub; great food and wonderful people. It’s always such a pleasure to Host Guests who have not been to our Island before, and Guests who have not been West to Connemara before, to share information what to do and where to go .
David & Miriam
Our stay at Dove Cottage was everything we had hoped for and more for our Ireland leg of our three country holiday in Europe. David greeted us at the cottage and provided recommendations for dinner and lunches. Most graciously, David and Miriam stocked the fridge with yogurt, cheese, butter, and milk. A delicious loaf of brown bread, fresh from the bakery, accompanied the food. Maps and literature of the region were provided to help us determine places to visit. David and Miriam were present if we had questions or need of assistance. The cottage and grounds were very well taken care of and clean, with a cozy, safe, and quiet atmosphere in the Irish countryside. I highly recommend Dove Cottage. Thank you, David and Miriam, for a wonderful experience in your beautiful country, Ireland.
Dove Cottage was the perfect place for our recent stay in Ireland. The cottage was small and clean, comfortable, and quiet and perfect for 2 people. It was surrounded by beautiful gardens and our hosts, David and Miriam, were very kind and helpful. They gave us great recommendations on places to visit and eat during our stay.
The local Town was a quick ride away and has a grocery store, gas station, several pubs/restaurants, a variety of shops, and Sullivan's Country Grocer with take-away sandwiches and delicious treats. Highly recommend the caramel bars!
Located in beautiful Connemara, this was a wonderful jumping off point for day trips into Galway, Clifden, and others and to see the Irish Atlantic coast, amazing mountain ranges, and scenic drives with beauty all around. Prepare to see lots of sheep, cows, horses, and donkeys on your travels!
While we visited, we went to a local agricultural fair, visited the Cliffs of Moher, and took a lake boat cruise out of a local dock that travelled to an island with ancient ruins of a church/abbe, a home, and cemetery and then onto Ashford Castle to self-tour the beautiful gardens and a short walk (10min) into Cong, the Town famous for "The Quiet Man" movie.
Dublin is @ 2.5 hrs away, a very doable day trip in to the city if you are up for it and we went to tour the Guinness Storehouse and Trinity College.
We would highly recommend Dove Cottage to those who want to see Ireland at it's most beautiful and wild best.
Herzliches Willkommen, Ferienhaus geheizt und der Kühlschrank für den ersten Hunger bestückt sowie ein frisches Bäckerbrot. Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt in gemütlichem Ferienhaus.
Inklusive scharfer Messer. Im Kühlschrank warteten Butter und Milch auf uns und ein frisches Brot gab es auch.
David und Miriam waren sehr zuvorkommende, hilfsbereite, freundliche Gastgeber. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.
The hosts of this cottage are perfect in every way. They are nearby if needed by not in your way. You have your privacy but you know you are not alone. They are so lovely. The setting of the cottage is close to all the beauty Connemara/Galway/Mayo has to offer. It will be my destination to stay going forward when visiting the area.
