Great family stay

We had a great stay as a family of 4, including 2 children. The kids loved swimming in the lake, fishing and going out on the canoe. Owners were very responsive for anything that we needed. Would gladly stay again in the future.

Amazing!

The pictures of this cabin don’t do it justice, very nice, quiet cabin. Breathtaking lake view, and a screened in Gazebo on the lake! We had such a great time and can’t wait to go back!

Nice lake

The cottage is very outdated. Filthy, mold on curtains, faucet water gross and a critter in the night that likes fruit. Lakefront is beautiful! Do not recommend !

Hi Kathleen, We are terribly sorry that we missed the mark during your stay, we strive to go above and beyond for each guest who comes to our cottage. My personal cell phone number is readily available in several locations and I am always ready to make our guest's stays the best they can be. The only problem we can't solve is the one we don't know about! Thank you!

Awesome Summer Trip!

The cottage is simple, but has a kitchen and bathroom that are updated beyond what we would have expected for a lake camp. Large deck overlooking the water is great for grilling and hanging out. The lake frontage, with the dock and sandy beach areas was absolutely amazing (and we have rented A LOT of lake houses over the years). Incredible panoramic views right there on the property. Owner was very nice and great with communications. Our verizon hotspot worked - for those who must stay connected. Not far from the small downtown shops and stores. Perfect for our family of four - two adults, two kids. A slightly larger family would be comfortable as well. Thanks for a great stay!

As advertised

Pictures and descriptions were spot on, It’s a cabin in the woods. This waterfront property provided us with everything we were looking for. We’re a low key family who spends a lot of time outdoors, this listing was close enough to all the amenities while still providing the authentic camp experience. We utilized the red book of things to do and found it extremely useful when finding obscure waterfalls and local fun. Caught a boat load of fish right off the dock, trout and fresh water salmon. On rainy days town isn’t far, learned history at the museums and enjoyed a bite to eat at the Red Onion .The cabin provided shelter from the storms and that’s all that was truly needed, but there were some small things that did help make the stay more enjoyable. Set realistic expectations and you’ll rarely be disappointed’

Front yard & beach area was awesome

We are outdoors people, and couldn't have improved the deck, yard, and beach / lake access area!

Perfect lakeside cabin

The property was just as advertised and was very comfortable for our family's stay. We had a really wonderful week. Highlights: that there were two picnic tables (one on the porch and one down near the water); plenty of chairs so that we didn't have to lug them back and forth; GREAT walk in beach access for our kids and the cove provided a lovely area for them the float around in. The stairs to the loft were very kid friendly too. Property is a quick drive to town, but far enough away from busy roads that we were able to take walks without concern.

Everything was magnificent once we figured out the hot water in the shower

It was everything we hoped for. The lake is just a very short walk down the back yard and the shore line is perfect for swimming. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer.

Beautiful Waterfront Vacation Home

Back in 2002 we hiked the Appalachian Trail and discovered the Rangeley lakes area. We decided to spend some time there this summer, and we were so lucky to find this beautiful spot right on Mooselookmeguntic Lake! 250 feet of amazing private waterfront comes with this quaint cabin, including a boat dock, a canoe, and a sandy swimming area. There is also a large grassy area with a picnic table and fire pit. Great for a game of boce ball! We also enjoyed time out on the deck, and views of the lake, mountains and loons galore from the large living room windows. This home is close to restaurants, hiking and fun shopping areas. Our hosts were wonderful, helpful with questions about the area and they made us feel right at home. We will be back next summer!

Our family has spent every Summer in this part of Maine since I was a child. This unique area always helps me find peaceful days and nights. If you need any recomendations for hikes or daytime canoe/kayak trips I am always happy to help!

Why they chose this property

You can expect to find quiet star filled skies at night far from the hustle and bustle of any amount of crowds.

What makes this property unique

Mooselookmeguntic lake is unique with only half of the lake actually being developed with houses. The far shore of the lake is all rugged wilderness, it is undeveloped and will never be developed since it's owned by a combination of wilderness land trusts and the State. There are only a few remote camp sites on the far shore. This means that a busy day on the lake is 5-6 boats.
