Beautiful white-sand beaches and breathtaking sunsets coupled with a modern, newly remodeled home offer the perfect get-away with all of the comforts of home. Tucked away in Wilderness State Park, you will enjoy a secluded slice of lake front property, but will be a few minute’s drive from Mackinac City, The Mighty Mackinaw Bridge, ferries to Mackinac Island, and Michigan’s stunning Upper Peninsula. Open floor plan includes a spacious family room, dining area, kitchen with a fantastic lake view, three bedrooms, and two full bathrooms. We love this home as much as our permanent residence — completely furnished with new furniture, kitchen appliances, tableware, bedding, washer and dryer, and artwork.

Family room includes a large sectional couch (which can fold out to two twin beds), television with DISH TV, and a DVD player. The custom kitchen has granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The three bedrooms include a master suite with a queen bed, dresser, spacious closet, master bath, and a beautiful lake view with a cozy patio — perfect for relaxing with your morning coffee, watching kids play in the spacious backyard or lake, and enjoying sunsets. The second and third bedrooms have queen beds, dressers and spacious closets, and plenty of space to spread out. The second full bathroom sits between these two bedrooms.

The beach is pure white sand with clear water, so it is soft on your toes and ideal for swimming, sunning and walking the beach. A small grilling and seating area for cookouts and s’mores can be found at the edge of our beach area, allowing you to get the most of your Lake Michigan days and sunsets! We also offer three youth kayaks, and one youth paddleboard. Please bring your own life jackets.

The spacious, well maintained backyard facing the water is fantastic! Tossing the football, Frisbee, camping, napping or stargazing by the fire pit — plenty of room to do it all!

Mackinaw City is minutes away, where you can take the ferry to Mackinac Island, visit the shops, restaurants or historic sites, or play putt-putt. You can also cross the famous Mackinac Bridge to the town of St. Ignace or explore Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula.

For Golfers, Michigan offers a seemingly endless supply of beautiful golf courses, many of which are nearby.

We live in Indiana, but our family has vacationed in Michigan for over 10 years. We love the beautiful, clear summer days and the crisp, cool nights. For us, there is no place that compares to Northern Michigan!

Why they chose this property

The summers here are perfect with warm days (minus the humidity) and cooler nights. After vacationing/renting in Northern Michigan for many years, we began searching for a home to buy. On our third summer vacationing/renting in the Mackinac area, a friend invited us to spend the day at their home on Wilderness Park Trail. We were hooked and just waited for the perfect home to become available in this area.

What makes this property unique

Our home is located in Wilderness State Park, which is just around the point from the Mackinaw Bridge. This protected bay area with shallow water makes our beaches sandy and helps the water warm more than the deeper, colder waters of Lake Michigan.

Our boys can play and walk out quite a distance before the water gets deep (a little piece of mind). Also, it is amazing that the lake can be so still at certain times of the day/year. We’ve seen it look like glass before — just beautiful! Who would have thought you could see calm water like that on Lake Michigan! It is also breathtaking to see such different colors of the water. It is as if you are on the ocean with the levels of pretty blues in contrast with the white sandy beach.

The yard is also of value to us, as our boys love to get out, wrestle, play football, swim and explore. The house offers us the opportunity to be quiet and thoughtful, play outside or be at the movies in 10 minutes.

It fits our needs wonderfully with the soft, sandy shore, clear shallow water, friendly neighbors, and the convenience to town with the feeling of being far removed.
