About the host

Hosted by Monica Castle

Host profile image
I am from North Alabama, but my husband is from Grant, Alabama and Quito,Ecuador. We have traveled to Ecuador many times to visit his family which has been a rewarding experience for us and our children. However, Grant is our cherished home and my husband is a 3rd generation owner of this land. We hope you enjoy the Andean artwork displayed, the peaceful nature that surrounds, an occasional donkey’s bray, and the cliffside view at this retreat while creating memories with your loved ones.

Why they chose this property

The land is private and scenic. In fact, we have created nature trails that lead to a waterfall and an old wagon trail. It’s like living on your own state park. Grant is such a friendly place where the locals will wave at anyone who drives past them. Also, it’s easy to get to Huntsville at this location, but is not far from City Harbor in Guntersville. Best of both worlds!

What makes this property unique

The property is nestled in the woods at a scenic cliff and has access to trails that meander through the woods down to unique small caves and massive rock formations. Fish in our spring fed pond from a nice dock. Additionally, there is a field next to the property that is a cattle farm with a donkey. We also have a place for someone to plug in an RV/camper for electricity and for water hook up.
