Beautiful home with cute yard. Convenient location in quiet neighborhood. Within walking distance (with kids and dog in tow) to a few fun things. Hosts were helpful and responded to my questions quickly.

We’ve called this home for nearly a decade and have poured a lot of care into making it feel warm, grounded, and full of character. We love creating spaces that invite people to slow down, settle in, and feel at ease. We’re often out exploring Maine ourselves, whether that’s the coast, the lakes, or local food spots, and we’re always happy to share our favorite finds.

Why they chose this property

Having grown up in Portland, we chose Westbrook to be just outside the city, with a little more space to garden and slow down while still staying close to everything. Our neighborhood is full of kind, hardworking folks, with people often out walking their dogs. You’ll find a mix of surfers, artists, and teachers here. Most homes date back to the late 1800s and early 1900s, originally built for mill workers along the river. FLYNHats is just down the street, and there’s a strong sense of community we really love.

What makes our home unique is that it’s been thoughtfully lived in and cared for over time, rather than designed as a short-term rental. We’ve spent nearly a decade shaping it into a warm, character-filled space with a blend of bohemian touches and classic New England charm.
