Be sure to stock up on groceries and fuel in Carbondale on your way to the property. During the winter months, we recommend using a vehicle with 4x4 to access the home safely.
The beauty of this property caught the eye of Disney and hosted sites seen in the movie 'Tall Tales,' and this home is perfect for travelers looking for a small slice of a peaceful paradise. Featuring a classic cabin ambiance, you'll have all the basics that you need for a relaxing stay.
Step out on the deck with an ice-cold brew or two and take in the tree-lined views. Snap a few pictures, then connect to the WiFi to send them to your friends back home. Featuring a full-size refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker (no stove/oven or dishwasher), you'll have the essentials to whip up a tasty dish.
After dinner, revel in the natural warmth of the shared hot springs just a few steps away from your cabin. This cabin, along with the few others on this property, have the use of two tiled tubs along the river that are filled with natural hot spring water. Sip a cocktail on the deck and watch the fireflies come out to dance with the stars.

Outdoor enthusiasts will adore being so close to nature. Paddle along the banks, or head over to the Filoha Meadows Open Space that is just across the river from this property. Open to the public from July through September, you'll be able to observe elk, deer, and an abundance of wildlife. Spend the day at The Roaring Fork Conservancy for one of their nature-inspired walks or teaching sessions. During the winter months, you'll be able to explore the area while you delve into some backcountry and Nordic skiing.

Loved the area and was perfect for us. Enjoyed the hot spring and the view. Can get warm at night but keep the fans going and you’ll be alright. Suggestions to improve comfort: better pillows and have a shower caddy hanging to keep from knocking the supplies down. Definitely would come back here again!
A healing retreat in the mountains next to Crystal River
My son and I enjoyed staying next to the Crystal River and beautiful mountains, and soaking in the hot springs! Our accommodations were clean and kitchen had everything we needed. The manager was caring and very helpful. We will definitely be returning to this sweet mountain retreat!

Hi, Ryan. Thank you for providing us with this valuable feedback. We are so glad that you had a wonderful time at our beautiful home. We appreciate you letting us know there is room for improvement, and we will pass your comments regarding the shower on to our local operations manager to get this checked if there is a necessary repair. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future.
This is 1 of 4 charming rentals onsite (2 rentals to a building). While close to the (very lightly trafficked) road, this offers a very peaceful getaway. The hot tubs offer fantastic views of the valley(especially the one down by the river). The property manager is very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about the land. He is definitely worth talking to if you'd like to know more about the property, the wildlife, or the surrounding geography. Great place to stay all around! I hope we get to come back someday.
The only negative thing that I could possibly say about the place is that the sleeping accommodations were not the best. It was me and my two adult children, so we had to bring a blow up mattress and futons are never comfortable! Other than that, the location was AMAZING!

Jan, thank you for sharing your experience with us, we are glad you enjoyed our lovely home. We are glad you loved the location. While we understand that sleeping preferences vary widely, we are sorry to hear that the bed did not provide a comfortable night of rest. We look forward to hosting you again!

Excellent stay
Only good things to say about this place.
From the location, to cleanliness of the cabin and overall experience.
I travel around the states alone and have visited many places. My stay here was for five nights.
The view is incredible, the hot tub outside was always available and needless to say that the combination of both is unmatched.
I felt like home since day one without missing anything. The cabin was clean and fully equipped.
Mike was very accommodating and committed to make sure I was comfortable at all times and had a 5 star experience.
He also recommended many attractions and activities to do, which was of big help to me since I came in “unprepared” and wasn’t familiar with the area.
I am definitely recommending this to all my friends and family.
Looking forward in coming back next fall.

Special setting
This is not a fancy place but has everything you need. Right on the river with access to the preserved Open Space is really great. Mike was there to greet us and answer any questions. We hope to come back for more fishing!

Perfect getaway
We had an amazing stay at Filoha Meadows. Beautiful location, right on the Crystal River. The staff is fanstastic, so helpful and informative. We loved the private hot spring tub overlooking the river. For us, it was a perfect getaway. We also liked how close to the towns of Redstone and Marble the cabin is. If you are bothered by gnats, I wouldn't suggest this location. Its fine if you leave the windows closed. But they get through the screens because they are so tiny. It was no problem for us, though. The cabin, location, and hospitality were all so great. It easily made up for a few bugs. Besides, we are in the Rockies! Bugs and animals are part of the nature experience:)
Thank you Filoha Meadows, we had a fantastic experience!

Elephant Mountain Cabin
This was a nice and peaceful cabin. In the evening right after sundown, I had 5 deer walk right by my bedroom window. The river is a stones throw away where I did catch a couple of trout. The hot tubs were nice in the evening after a long day. I will be returning in the near future.

Simple mountain retreat
This is a beautiful spot. Unmatched. It is not fancy… but has all you need. For the outdoor nature enthusiast this spot will not disappoint. The cabin is clean and well stocked. The staff go above and beyond. Mike is a gem!
We have traveled many times to CO. This was our favorite stay ever! The cabin is perfect. Everything was clean and new and nice but we hardly spent anytime inside because the outside area was unreal. The view from the deck was gorgeous we had drinks and played cards and enjoyed nature. Hands down the best part of this place is the private hot spring hot tub literally on the river! It is shared with other cabins but there are two tubs and we never saw anyone else there. If you like to fish bring a pole the river is right there and perfect to walk up and down and fly fish. We will definitely be going back and staying longer. Only negative was we tried to extend but they were already booked lol! Highly recommend!
Location on running river (crystal river??) coupled with the two hot spring filled hot tubs and great views made this an ideal quiet spot to relax and enjoy the falll colors.
Close to Carbondale and far from Aspen. Yet close to aspens and trails that get even closer. Among their white trunks on the Huntsman Ridge trail are pines decorated with the yellow aspen leaves. Upon return from the steep steep trail sore legs are salved by the 109 degree hot water by the rushing Crystal River. Across the river one sees the forbidden Fiola Meadows and maroon hills, far from the bells. A pine marten visits the cabin deck but Mike says watch out for sharp claws and teeth.

Fun Time Was Had!
Proximity to the Crystal River was fantastic. Fishing from the bridge was great. Two-burner hot plate, toaster oven, microwave were all in great working order and let us cook some of our meals in the cabin. Mattress in bedroom needs replacing, two people tend to gravitate to the center of the mattress as in a V shape. Hot tubs are great, but need lots of cold water added to make it possible to enjoy the water. Great lighting above the table.

Great Location
Mike is the man! Our place wasn't ready/cleaned when we showed up but Mike did everything he could to make sure we were taken care of and got housekeeping there asap. The location is the reason you go anyway. Don't expect some fancy accommodations, this is pretty humble. But private hot springs and endless views is why we were there. Could have lived on that deck.
We loved our stay. I knew there wouldn't be cell coverage because of a different review, but I wish I'd known wifi was limited. We were able to check email and search online etc., but were asked not to stream movies. We had been planning to stream church, so that part was disappointing. But the area was beautiful, and the accommodations lovely.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. The cabin had everything we needed and the hot spring pools were wonderful after a long day of hiking. Mike was very helpful and provided information about the area whenever we asked. The only thing that kept this cabin from being perfect was the bed. The mattress was not good and sagged in the middle.
