The villa in Chianti (400 m2) was built in the early 16th century as an ancient oratory. In 1876 it underwent its first transformation into a farmhouse and only today, thanks to a skilful restoration project that brought the structure back to its original beauty, a country villa rental has been created. The house is situated inside a large property which covers an area of about 460 hectares near Castellina in Chianti in a peaceful and panoramic position amidst the vineyards and gently rolling hills of Chianti Classico (350 m a.s.l.) between Siena and Florence. At guests’ disposal garden and equipped outdoor areas, equipped loggia (barbecue), irregular-shaped enclosed swimming pool (7x14) (01/05-13/10), toilette/changing room. Included in the price 2 hours of daily cleaning from Monday to Friday included, baby bed (to be requested when booking). To request at the moment of booking and to be paid on the spot: domestic help extra hours, cook. It is possible to purchase the estate produce. Possibility of guided tasting tours of the medieval cellar with wine and olive oil produced on the estate. Laundry room (washing machine). Parking. Central heating and air conditioning in all bedrooms of the main house and in the annex. Access through 200 m of dirt track road.

Enjoyed the sunsets by the pool!

6 adults from Canada for one week in late September. This home has a vast amount of space and is modestly furnished. We enjoyed the pool (unheated) late in the afternoons, for cocktails and sunsets. The space was comfortable enough however I would encourage the owners to supply a few more modern elements - an updated coffee maker, toaster, a clothes dryer and perhaps some sort of sound system. The check in process was confusing for sure. The management company was responsive to small problems and queries. We organized two nights with a local chef through them and really enjoyed the menus and the simplicity of it all. Was a treat. We rented bikes through Massimo at Toscana by Bike for 4 days, one of which was a guided tour. This was a fun way to spend some time travelling on back roads and visiting some wineries and small towns close by. Otherwise we drove by car and travelled to wonderful towns and sights in Siena, San Gimignano, Montalcino, Volterra, etc.

I booked this house for one month in September 2022

I booked this house for one month in September 2022. I did so for my family and friends to visit during that time. The house was wonderful. There were a few hot days, and it was nice to have AC for the bedrooms. The bedrooms are very nice and have an attached bathroom. The beds are comfortable. There are four bedrooms in the house and a detached studio type apartment (very nice) on the property that is included with the rental. The kitchen is well equipped and has plenty of room for everyone. The sitting areas are comfortable and lovely. There are cleaners (Flora and her husband Kastriot) that come every day during the week. They are wonderful people and we got to be friends with them. Francesca managed the property and if there were any concerns, she addressed them immediately! The house is very large, and the views are lovely from the house and the pool area. The pool is really beautiful, and someone comes to clean it often. Francesca also arranged for a chef (Elisa and her assistant) to prepare meals for us. They come to the house several hours early to prepare the meal at the house. They are very lovely people. The first time we ate outside in the large outdoor dining area. The second time we at in the dining room. The food was AMAZING, and I highly recommend. This was the most fantastic vacation, and I would highly recommend this house. There are numerous wineries in close proximity to the house. They are all great. The town of Castellina is very close by and the restaurants there are all very good. Be sure to tour the Tenuda di Lilliano winery (this is where you will check in for the house). It is lovely and the people there are so nice. There is a small COOP grocery store nearby but there is a huge one in Siena. I recommend the COOP in Siena. They have everything! I would definitely rent this house again.
