Peaceful and comfortable
What a wonderful place. My husband and son loved how we had an entire area to ourselves. The views from the living and dining rooms were gorgeous and very comfortable. We really felt like we had the entire hall to ourselves.

Serene location
Super few days in Orton, it's a lovely spot and we enjoyed the hall especially the beautiful grounds with the rabbits hopping around. It's a peaceful spot to come back to after a busy day. We particularly enjoyed Ullswater and its nearby walks as well as Ambleside, both around 30mins away and crossing the moors to Crosby Ravensworth. The Orton village shop has breakfast and picnic lunches covered and there are lots of good restaurants a short drive away. I noticed a supermarket maybe 15 mins away, on the way to Windermere. We didn't make it to the spa as there was too much else to do and the excellent whirlpool bath in the apartment was a great alternative. Our boys (14 and 11) especially enjoyed unlimited time on the pool table. There are a number of apartments in the hall, a mix of residents and holiday lets but all extremely friendly and very quiet.

What an incredible place, cosy and stunning
The place was spacious and had most things we needed. Only downside...it was extremely cold, took an evening to warm one room. Would recommend for it to be pre- heated before checking (in the winter seasons). Was able to enjoy the bath as the water wasn’t hot enough and would need recommend to tell guests to bring more teas and coffees as they’re wasn’t enough for a wkend stay

An amazing character stay
Stayed with my 3 kids (teenagers) they loved it. Lovely house and gardens and very quiet. All enjoyed some pool and chess and access to the spa in Penrith. The Rochester suite was very comfortable and clean. Access to the lake District was good. Only 30 mins to the north or south. I would recommend and would stay again.
