Cabin was warm even though it was unexpectedly cold and snowy outside.very quiet at night. Host was quite pleasant and had fresh eggs and a greenhouse available. Love the location!
I really enjoyed staying at windy in Paul’s property. It’s set up very comfortably and all the wildlife and views were great! I would definitely recommend this to anybody who is looking for a place to stay in the area.

Quiet can stay around and walk or play in lake or travel to local sites and dining locations nearby, Simple, clean and owners are responsive, kind and care about the place and it shows. A great retreat or vacation stop.
What a perfect house on their farm! Super clean and we loved the patio overlooking the reservoir. Very peaceful and we loved the fresh eggs & garden. We would book again!
Cozy cabin by the lake. The location has a fire pit and seating area facing the water. It is a beautiful drive to our other activities in Durango and Cortez. The location is a close drive to grocery stores and restaurants.

Great location, cozy property!
Very welcoming hosts and an awesome property. I wish we could have stayed longer. We mostly used it as a place to sleep in between quick visits to Mesa Verde and Telluride. I would book this location again in a heartbeat.
It was such a nice place, and easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go with our friends that were staying miles away. And alway nice to come back to our comfy bed and restful abode.
This cabin is so nice. All the comforts of home, but all the beautiful view of the lake and privacy. Loved our stay. Would definitely go back.

A beautiful lake view and nicely equipped cabin. If you like peaceful places, birds and nature you will be served, though not so far from everything you need. Hosts were very friendly too!

Dolores get-away
Easy to locate, great hosts, lovely one bedroom cabin in a beautiful setting. Fresh veggies from the garden were a bonus!
Very nicely equipped cabin on a big reservoir/ lake. Nice trails to walk on. Owners are very friendly providing farm fresh peaches and eggs. I had a nice stay.
This cute little cabin was our first stop while on our way to Salt Lake City, and it was perfect! We stopped in Dolores to ride a specific trail out of Rico on our dirtbikes, and the cabin was very private making us feel very secure with all of our gear laying out! It was a short stay for us but it was lovely.

From the owner: "You were wonderful guests. Thanks for staying with us!"
We loved that this cabin was outside of town located next to the property owners for safety. The owners were such a joy to meet! The cabin was decorated so nicely, clean, and had everything we needed. We loved sitting on the back porch watching the humming birds and beautiful scenery!
Absolutely amazing! The host are so warm and friendly. The cabin was very clean and cozy, the property is so beautiful! Will definitely choose to come back here.
The stay at the cabin was the highlight of our trip! The place by the lake is amazing and the view is outstanding! Most of it, Wendy and Paul are the nicest people in the world! We cannot wait to come back next year!
This was the perfect little cabin for us and the hosts were so nice! We were visiting our son in Dolores and Wendy and Paul have a spot that is like home away from home, which made it so nice to be able to have some great family time with our son. The outdoor seating area was perfect for evening gathering and enjoying the gorgeous sunsets!! Highly, highly recommend!!
Small cozy cabin with a great view of the lake. We had everything we needed including a nice kitchen to cook meals and a cozy firepit at night. The hosts were tremendously helpful and accomodating. They even shared some fresh veggies from their garden
My friend was visiting and I had the good fortune to book this perfect cottage for their stay. Wendy has created the most picturesque oasis, full of everything you might need, and is such an accommodating host. She went above and beyond to be sure that my fragrance-free friend would be able to stay in the home without an allergic reaction. I can't say enough good things about the experience, and wouldn't hesitate to book again when friends and family are in town!

Amazing place to stay
Wendy's place is a slice of heaven right on the lake! The space is so private with a full kitchen (which came in so handy) and so much outdoor seating to overlook the lake. We loved watching the hummingbirds in the morning as we had our coffee. Great location to get to surrounding areas (Silverton, Durango, Telluride). Wendy and her husband are so kind. Looking forward to hopefully staying again sometime.
Went for a small weekend trip for my 12 year anniversary and my Daughters 3rd bday. Place was clean, warm and fully stocked. Easy to access and not to far from the city. We woke up with the most beautiful fluffy snow out the large windows. It's was the best.
This was our 2nd stay and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. No pretentions, just what we expected for a cottage on the reservoir in the country. We had everything we needed to make lovely meals. The cottage is close to several hiking areas and ruins. Super host and hostess that are available when needed.
Our hosts were the best. Bed was really comfortable, kitchen fully stocked and views were terrific. There is ac on the property although the description does not state this. I must add the ac works well. The location is tranquil and the photos on line are exactly how the cabin looks. It is decorated delightfully. The local grocery store is convenient to the cabin and has all sorts of great local and organic fruits and vegetables.
The lake the cabin looks over is a mud puddle due to drought conditions. This is no fault of the owner but disclosing this information might have changed our minds about staying there. McPhea reservoir is close by and beautiful. There were fresh eggs in the refrigerator from the chickens on the property which was a nice touch and appreciated. The owner's house is right next to the cabin so the cabin did not feel private but the cabin was very clean and cozy. The cleanup to-do list was a bit much considering the price per night to rent this property.

Hi Carol, the owners work hard to provide an ideal stay for all their guests, and we'd like to take a moment to address the following:
- While the reservoir's water level is out of the owner's control, we're sorry it impacted your stay. We will add a note to the listing to ensure guests are aware it can vary depending on the time of year and drought situation.
- As is standard for vacation rentals, guests are asked to complete a few small tasks, like removing their own trash, as part of checkout. The cleaning fee goes to a service that sanitizes and prepares the home for each new guest.
The owners truly go above and beyond for their guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!
That picture of the lake next to the cabin: bogus. Drought has reduced it to a puddle half a mile away. The owner is not responsible for that. She is responsible for the picture. A single comfortable chair inside, because there is no room for a second. Not so good for two people. Watch TV from bed. Again, uncomfortable. It's a nice setting with comfortable outdoor seating, but overall not sweet enough to justify the price.

From the owners: "We are sorry to hear you were less than thrilled with your stay! We don't have any control over the reservoir depth, and we are experiencing a drought in Colorado at the moment. We let our guests know that the level can change from time to time.
W will make sure to add an extra comfortable chair to the small living space. Since our cabin is 600 sq ft, there isn't room for two chairs, but we will see what we can do. We will also mount the TV on the wall. Thank you for your suggestions. We love our cabin and are sorry to hear it wasn't the right space for your trip!"
