YOU CAN SWIM IN THE GULF AND ENJOY THE PRISTINE SAND OF ST GEORGE OR SWIM IN THE POOL, IT HAS THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. THE COTTAGES ARE ABOUT A 15 MINUTE WALK TO THE CENTER OF THE ISLAND WHERE YOU CAN ENJOY RESTAURANTS, BARS, SHOPPING, AND WHATEVER ELSE YOU CAN FIND. Spring break getaway

Beach Bum Cottages were a great find. Such a short walk to the beach, the cottage had all we needed & the kids loved the pool. We would definitely stay again.

It’s what we expected. It’s an older cottage but very clean and suited our needs just fine. The beach was just across the street from us but you could not see it from our cottage. The sand dunes were above the sight line. Our local hostess was very friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to insure we had the best possible time while we were there. I recommend staying there.

Great location

Great location! Just a few steps from the beach and the pool was great for days when the beach wasn't ideal. (Rip tide warnings and windy this particular week) We enjoyed the shops and restaurants and this area did not have all the spring break rowdy crowds....perfect for families. Our host, Laura, was a real sweetheart, taking a few minutes out of her busy day to just sit and talk with me. ( I was here on a Respite visit as a caregiver)

FANTASTIC!

The cottage was adorable, very clean, best location. Also Laura was very sweet and made me feel at home. This is now my go to for St George Island stays. I plan to come back at least once per year. So glad I found this wonderful place!

Nice Rental

Overall we were pleased with our experience at this rental. The apartment was clean, and although not brand new, it was all operating as it should. The communication was very easy. This unit is as listed on VRBO and in a location immediately across from the beach and a short drive to the beautiful state park. Easy for me to recommend.

First time at SGI and we will definitely be back! Peaceful and relaxing. Beaches were not crowded. Beach access directly across a quiet street. Property was clean, bathroom was a bit small but certainly not a deal breaker. Beds were comfortable. Highly recommend!

First Visit…

Beach Bum Cottage was clean and well maintained. Location was great with access to the beach right across the street. Nice pool and deck area. Easy access to local casual restaurants and both ends of the island. Billed as a 2 bedroom with one (very small, tight) bathroom, and BR #2 only if you had children under 12. We would look to another place if we were to go back with two adult friends.

Good location to beach

Pool was nice. Many dogs in other units. One pooped in bush by where my wife sat every day. One pooped on common area by our door. Other than that all was well.

We'll be back

This year we flew into Atlanta to visit my son and daughter-in-law and then we all headed out to St. George Island. We had recommendations from someone who stayed in Appalachicola but once we saw barrier island we had to try it. The community is fabulous; all the stores, restaurants you need but no huge development. Beach Bum Cottages were small but comfortable and well-equipped. The beach was across the street for swimming, walking and star gazing. The pool was heaven. A great value! Property manager, Laura, was always available and helpful!

New year beach trip

Property was fine and as advertised. The only problem was water heater sucked. We could never take a bath or shower back to back. Or take a nice bath. Always ran out of hot water very quickly . Otherwise would recommend.

A nice little cottage

The family and I came down to St. George for a Christmas visit, having made the reservation many months in advance. We had no idea there would be a monster of a cold front moving in and several days of temperatures in the 20s. Water lines were popping all over St. George! Geysers spraying under houses as you drove past, it was an unusual site to see. A couple water lines had burst at the cottage after freezing overnight and I had to contact the property manager, on Christmas day no less, when a new fountain water feature appeared out by the pool. Laura and her husband went above and beyond to have it repaired that day after coming out very quickly. Wonderful people, I was glad to have met them. The heat also worked very well in the cottage, though I didn't think I would have needed it. The cottage was clean and comfortable, very convenient beach access right across the street and away from the busier part of the island. It was an enjoyable trip for time spent with family. I have no complaints and wouldn't hesitate to stay at Beach Bums in the future.

Birthday weekend getaway. The pictures didn’t do this place justice. We had everything that we needed, plenty of room and the place was extremely clean. Quick and easy access to the beach! Pool and pool area was clean. Met the property manager and she was extremely friendly and helpful. Hope to visit again

Telaxing

It was a relaxing time. Beach was close enough but far enough for some sand relief. I loved sitting by the pool to do my laundry and enjoy the stars. We just loved it.

Just steps from the beach

We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach Bum Cottages. This was our second time staying here and it is just the right size for our family of three. You can’t get a better location other than being directly on the beach as the public entrance is directly across the road. It’s just a few steps from the driveway. The place was clean as well as the pool. We will definitely stay here again.
